Kane Williamson: 'It was nice to contribute in such an important game. The second half was good with the run-outs and fielding. The boys really stiffed up. I did cramp up a little bit, but got support from the other end. Just contributing to the team's win was really great. Grant Elliott was outstanding.'

Brendon McCullum: 'I am not going to underplay it, it has not been an easy tour. This will go down as one of our biggest wins. We probably had no right to win this game, but we kept things tight. Kane Williamson's innings was as good as one I have seen. This is just the 4th game out of 20 against South Africa that we have won. Really proud of the boys. Everyone right throughout the tour has worked hard. I think that is the mark of a person who after conceding 17 in the first over comes back strongly.'
du Plessis: 'We did not play well. They got 20 runs too many in the field. 5 run outs is not acceptable. More often that not, when you get into that situation, you should win it. It was an important ODI series for us, we want to be up there in the rankings. Losing Amla and de Villiers was a big loss. Williamson was fantastic, he showed how to play on this wicket. We will come back fighting and make sure our plans are good.'
New Zealand have fought admirably. Credit to them for keeping up the pressure and bowling and fielding brilliantly. They have proven yet again that catches and sharp fielding can help win you a match. But it has to be said that it was South Africa's match to lose. They were 167/1 at one stage, cruising along with Smith and Colin Ingram at the crease. But thanks to 5 run outs, they eventually fell 27 run short. Mills was the pick of the NZ bowlers with 2/28 in 9 overs, while Nathan McCullum and Guptill impressed in the field. The visitors win the series 2-0 with one ODI to go.
