India vs Pakistan, 2nd T20I, Pakistan in India 2012-13

Commentary

India won by 11 runs | India Vs Pakistan Live Score, 2nd T20I

The trophy is shared by Dhoni and Hafeez who both sport huge smiles. Nice to see that. On that note it brings the curtains down on a wonderful series. Typical India Pakistan stuff and the crowd have loved it to bits. The ODI series starts on the 30th. Do join us then, hope you have enjoyed our thrilling coverage. Until next time make sure you enjoy whatever you are doing. Till then this is goodbye from all of us here. Have a great time. Alvida!
Dhoni: 'A lot depends on the youngster or the bowler who is bowling the last over and they held their nerve nicely. The youngsters were feeling the pressure but executed their yorkers and the slower ones when the field was set for it. First of all we don't know whether there will be dew or not on this so one does not know what is a good score. The good thing was Yuvi getting those sixes and fours. The last venue we had the wicket supporting the bowlers and you come here and it is a flat wicket but that's what the format is all about.'
Hafeez: 'The boys really worked hard to win the series, but during the 2nd stage of the innings we didn't follow the basics. The partnership between MS and Yuvraj was the difference. The 7th to 10th over we didn't bat well and we couldn't finish it off, but still a good game of T20 Cricket. The crowd was exceptionally good and really enjoyed playing here today.'
Hafeez is the Man of the Series for his back to back fifties.
Yuvraj Singh: 'Yesterday I was batting in the nets and I couldn't hit a single ball out of the ground and it was disappointing. But today I did. The yorker from Irfan reminded me of Wasim Akram. Tried to bat through and was hitting the ball well late on. If me and MS always have a partnership, we get a really good score and that helped us win the game. Enjoyed the support over here and hopefully come back and play here. India Pakistan is amazing, we always have had great matches against them and there's lot of passion when both countries play.'
Yuvraj Singh is the Man of the Match for his 36 ball 72.
A cracking game of cricket and India deservedly level the series 1-1. Pakistan started off well and were kept in the hunt by some exceptional batting from their skipper Hafeez but Dinda ensured that India didn't have to worry by taking care of three crucial wickets. Stay tuned for the presentation which will happen shortly.
Those 2 balls changed the entire complexion of the game. The ones that I'm referring to are the ones where first Umar refused the single and then he was bowled next ball. From then on it put immense pressure on Hafeez who succumbed. But still credit must be given to Dinda. He gave away 12 runs off his last two overs and took 3 wickets which ensured Ishant had enough in the tank for the last over.
End of over 20, 8 runs (1 . 4 1 1 wd W )
PAK: 189/9
Umar Gul - 5(5) This over: 5 runs
Shoaib Malik - 3(3) This over: 2 runs
Ishant Sharma
(4.0 - 0 - 34 - 1)
19.6 Ishant Sharma to Umar Gul W
out Caught by Rahane!! India win and there are jubiliant scenes all over at Ahmedabad. Umar Gul sliced the last delivery straight down the throat of sweeper cover and the crowd go mental. Umar Gul c Rahane b Ishant 5(5) [4s-1]
19.6 Ishant Sharma to Umar Gul 1wd
wide, Ishant wants this game to go on. Bowls a wide outside off. 12 needed off 1 now
Pak need 13 off one. Just a mere formality now unless a miracle happens and it rarely does
19.5 Ishant Sharma to Shoaib Malik 1
1 run, Ishant keeps his nerve, full outside off, Shoaib Malik drives it to long off.
Unless Ishant bowls a no-ball or a wide - India should win this. It's pretty obvious, but sometimes even obvious things need to be stated
19.4 Ishant Sharma to Umar Gul 1
1 run, great ball from Ishant, yorker length outside off, Umar Gul can only drive it to long off
Dhoni walks up to Ishant to have a word. The crowd is on tenter-hooks. Looks like cover has come up. There are two men on the edge of the circle at cover
