Zimbabwe vs Pakistan, 2nd ODI, Pakistan tour of Zimbabwe 2013

Commentary

Pakistan won by 90 runs | Zimbabwe Vs Pakistan Live Score, 2nd ODI

That ends our coverage of the 2nd ODI. Do join us for the series decider on Saturday. For now, cheers and bye..
Misbah: 'You just can't read the conditions here. This pitch was more drier than the previous one, but it played pretty OK. Hafeez played really well, Amin and Afridi supported him nicely. The conditions improved in the second innings. We were under pressure when the two batsman (Taylor and Waller) were playing sensibly, but I knew it was a matter of taking just one wicket. Junaid was outstanding. We need to improvea bit more on Saturday and win the series. '
Hafeez: 'I think things are really working and am happy that I am performing for my team in crucial conditions. The pressure was on us, they bowled really well in the first 20 overs. Umar Amin batted really well. We were looking at scoring around 260, but the partnerships helped us. I was just telling Amin to play straight and spend time in the middle. This was a must win match for us, we wanted to win this comprehensively. Our bowlers performed really well.'
Hafeez is the MoM for his 136
Junaid Khan is the player of the match
Taylor: 'Our first 20 with the ball was good, the wicket played better than we thought. Hafeez played really well and took the game away from us. 300 was always tough chasing. I thought we had a chance when I was involved with Williams and Waller in the middle, but it was always going to tough. We will hopefully play at our best on Saturday. It was good to score some runs. I thought I just got myself out previously, but I need to kick on and perform for the team.'
A late collapse hurt the Zimbabweans. They looked good to take the fight to the Pakistan camp when Taylor and Waller were batting together. Taylor was dismissed by Ajmal and Waller was castled by Junaid. The tail fell apart and the visitors completed a crushing victory. Junaid was the best bowler on view and he deserved all the accolades. The series is now set up for the final ODI at Harare which will be played on Saturday.
