Match drawn | Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka Live Score, 1st Test

That's all we have from here folks! Join us on January 8th for the second Test of the series to be played at Dubai. Till then, take care and bye bye...
Misbah: I think it was a pretty even Test. First 2 days, we dominated pretty well but then they came back in the next two days. We need to improve our batting. We started well in the first innings but faltered later on. We also need to improve on the bowling areas, get quick wickets. The pitch was a typical Abu Dhabi wicket. It was turning on the first 2 days and then flattened out. There was nothing in it for the bowlers later on, especially the spinners. (On Saeed Ajmal) The credit should be given to Sri Lankans. They held on brilliantly. The next game will be totally different and I am sure, he will do well and get wickets. Junaid Khan has been performing well, Bilawal Bhatti has been a good find and Ahmed Shehzad was a good choice for this Test too. Overall, it has been a good Test match.
Mathews: Yeah, I am pretty happy with the result. We batted well in the second innings but we need to get our quality up and perform consistently. This is the best I have batted for my country. Pakistan bowled brilliantly in the first innings and we were bowled out quite early. The match was in balance after that but on the 4th and 5th days, we were pretty good. The openers did a good job with playing the new ball. Chandimal was particularly well when we needed the runs in the beginning. Prasanna is a good keeper and he played brilliantly.
Angelo Mathews is the Man of the Match
After losing a shaky Khurram Manzoor, Shehzad and Hafeez put on a solid 100+ run stand. Younis played the anchor role and dug it out with Hafeez till both parties settled on a draw. Stay tuned for the presentation coming up a few minutes...
And so both teams have decided to call it off. After the start Pakistan got on Day 1, such a result was not expected. But Sri Lanka came back strongly in their second innings to put up a big total. They were expertly led by their skipper Angelo Mathews who remained unbeaten 157. With 302 to win in 67 overs, it was not going to be a straight-forward task for Pakistan on the final day.
There you go. Handshakes all around. The first Test is a draw.
