Commentary

Sri Lanka won by 6 wkts | Sri Lanka Vs South Africa Live Score, 3rd T20I

That ends our coverage of the South African tour of Sri Lanka. The cricket does not stop though. Join us on Friday as England take on Australia in the 4th Ashes Test. For now, cheers and bye..
Faf du Plessis: This is a big trophy for us to take home. Disappointed with our efforts today, we were a bit slack. But to win 2-1 against the world no. 1 team in their backyard is special. We did not plan well today, felt that we had enough runs in the bank. Credit to Dilshan, he really played superbly well. The T20 World Cup is coming up, it was nice to play in these conditions. The crowd and the hospitality was good as well.
Duminy: 'Nice to get some scores on the board. I guys worked pretty hard in the nets and the results showed. I rely more on timing rather then power. It was a nice contest, SL is a good place to be.'
J P Duminy is the MoS
Chandimal: 'I am really happy. the guys played really well, especially the bowlers. They kept them down to a reasonable score. Mahela and Dilshan startyed very well, then Thisara played a fine cameo. Our fielding was really good. SA played really well, it was a challenge to play them, I wish them all tghe best for future assignments.'
Dilshan: 'It was not an easy target to chase, we needed to take some chances in the first 6 overs, Mahela got us off to a good start, I then continued with the momentum. I wanted toi disturb the bowler's rhythm, that is the reason I played the 'Dilscoop' in the first over. I did not panic when the rate increased. I knew one good over would be enough for us to win.'

A comfortable win for Sri Lanka in the end. With the series lost, they came out firing and put the South African players under huge pressure. Dilshan led from the front and it was apt that he finished things off. Mahela was the ideal foil for him, but SA clawed back in the middle overs only for Thisara to ease the hosts past the winning post. SA move up two places to No.3 in the ICC rankings, SL just about manage to stay on top.
