Kushal Perera and Dilshan started the chase off well but they stuttered when the spinners came on to bowl. Doherty and Maxwell stifled the scoring rate as they picked up wickets at regular intervals. However, Mathews steadied the ship and Thisara Perera supported him well. Thisara finished off the game with a couple of sixes to help Sri Lanka go 1-0 up in the two match series.
