Commentary

It's always great if a Test goes right into the last hour for a result. We thoroughly enjoyed bringing this game to you. Hope you did so as well. These two teams will face off on boxing day again but there are the T20Is between India and England before that. Do join us for all that. Cheers and goodbye for now.

Siddle has been named the Man of the Match for his 9 wicket haul in the game. Rumours of ball-tampering notwithstanding, he was clearly the standout player and Clarke's go-to man in this match.

Samaraweera and Mathews had batted with a lot of grit in the second session but once it became clear that they were going for only the draw, Australia had more incentive to go on the attack and they did it in style.

Just rewards for some superb aggressive cricket from Australia. They were a bowler short and needed 6 wickets going into the last session. Clarke managed his bowlers superbly and kept all his fielders in catching positions in the last session. His bowlers responded fantastically too. Watson and Siddle set the tone with a good spell straight after tea. Starc backed it up superbly in the end.
