Commentary
That is all from us here. The final Test of 2012 has gone Australia's way and that will ease the pain of their earlier series loss to South Africa. Sri Lanka will be hoping that they can field 11 fit guys for the third and final Test that begins in Sydney on January 03rd. Join us for all the action that takes place. Bye Bye!
There is more bad news as we sign off for the Sri Lankans. Kumar Sangakkara is out for at least 6-8 weeks due to a broken finger. So, that is the end of the tour for him.
Mitchell Johnson is the MoM for his all-round show. He scored an unbeaten 92 and picked up 6 wickets in the whole match.
For Sri Lanka, they will look back at another lost opportunity. To add salt to their wounds, they have three players who are injured and are potentially out for the Sydney Test. Prasanna Jayawardene and Chanaka Welegedara are out and there is a possibility that Kumar Sangakkara might join that list.
Australia have demolished Sri Lanka completely here. The Lankans never recovered after they were reduced to 13/4. The situation worsened even further for the tourists when Johnson broke the right index finger of Kumar Sangakkara, ruling him out for the game and possibly the series. Mathews perished soon after and the rest of the tail tamely capitulated. Jackson Bird and Mitchell Johnson were the stars of the game. Johnson, in particular, bowled with tremendous hostility and accuracy as he rattled all the batsmen.

out Caught by Hughes!! No, he cannot. Lyon gets his man in the end. He tosses this delivery up and bowls it a lot slower, Dhammika again advances down the track but does not get to the pitch of the ball, he goes through with the lofted shot and miscues it, Hughes at cover takes a simple catch. SIX, and another, flighted delivery just outside off, Dhammika again shimmies down the track and slices it way back into the stands this time at long off, can he get a hat-trick?
