Commentary

Bangladesh won by 2 wkts | Bangladesh Vs West Indies Live Score, 5th ODI

That is all from us here. The tour concludes with a one-off T20I on the 10th. Join us for all the action that takes place. Until then, it is good bye.
Rahim holds aloft the trophy and celebrates with his team-mates. It is a proud moment for a team that does not win too often.
Presentation Ceremony
Rahim is also the MoS for his fine captaincy.
Rahim: 'The boys executed the plans well. There are a lot of areas to work on. The batting was poor in the last two matches but our bowling was good. Fielding needs to improve. I am glad that Nasir Hossain, Mominul and Gazi took Bangladesh through after the loss of early wickets.'
Mahmudullah: 'I was a bit worried when I got out. However, Mominul and Nasir Hossain batted well. I was just playing my natural game and I put away the bad balls. I am happy with my performance in this whole series and I am happy that we won this series. The crowds were fantastic'
Mahmudullah is the MoM for his 48 and for picking up 2/38.
Sammy: 'I would like to congratulate the Bangladesh team for winning the series. They played some good cricket. We have not played well in this series. The guys battled it out under tough conditions. This loss has now dented our Christmas celebrations. A total of 240 was much more challenging on this track. The batting of Kieran Powell and Kieron Pollard was heartening. Kemar Roach bowled well but there was no support. The crowd have been fantastic and it is good to play in Bangladesh.'
This victory is even more sweeter for Bangladesh as it comes just one week before their Independence Day celebrations. December 16th, 1971 was the day when Bangladesh achieved independence and this month is touted as the month of victory for Bangladesh.
This is Bangladesh's third bilateral ODI series win against an established nation. This does not include their bilateral ODI wins against Zimbabwe. They whitewashed a weak West Indies team 3-0 in 2009, whitewashed New Zealand 4-0 in 2010 and now they have won this closely fought series 3-2.
The Bangladesh batting collapsed again as Roach ripped through the top order. However, a fantastic 81 run stand between Mahmudullah and Rahim put Bangladesh back on track. However, they lost quick wickets again and it took a 53 run stand between Nasir Hossain and Mominul Haque to get Bangladesh closer to victory. In the end, Nasir Hossain held firm and scored the winning runs to seal a 3-2 victory.
Wonderful scenes at Mirpur as the Bangladeshi players run out to celebrate a wonderful series win. They are dancing wildly to the Gangnam style and there is joy all around.
End of over 44, 6 runs (1 . . 1 . 4 )
BAN: 229/8
Nasir Hossain - 39(53) This over: 5 runs
Elias Sunny - 1(4) This over: 1 runs
Andre Russell
(10.1 - 0 - 51 - 0)
43.6 Andre Russell to Nasir Hossain 4
FOUR, this time the Bangladesh Prime Minister can confidently smile, short and wide delivery outside off, Nasir slashes it to third man for a boundary and Bangladesh clinch the series 3-2
43.5 Andre Russell to Nasir Hossain 0
no run, Bangladesh have won the series, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, is all smiles as she waves the Bangladesh flag, but hold on! Is it one run short? Yes, it is. Nasir will have to score that one run again. There is a lot of confusion here. To add to the confusion, Kieran Powell has uprooted the stump at the non-striker's end. Full ball outside off, Nasir carves it to sweeper cover and celebrates, however, Sunny celebrated a bit too soon and failed to complete the run, so the scores are still level, this is a farce
43.4 Andre Russell to Elias Sunny 1
1 run, scores level, short of length ball on leg stump, Sunny nudges it to the leg side and takes a quick single
