Australia vs South Africa, 2nd ODI Match, Zimbabwe Triangular Series, 2014

Commentary

South Africa won by 7 wkts | Australia Vs South Africa Live Score, 2nd ODI Match

That ends a great game of cricket. Join us back for Zimbabwe's clash against South Africa on Friday. Take care! Goodbye!
de Villiers: I have scored a lot of runs of late and to score a few here is very good. I do everything to get rid of them (cramps) but they keep coming back. Faf - amazing knock. I know he's had a rough start to his ODI career but he's a banker for me. It was a good wicket, but we still can improve a lot. Maybe we need to control the extras and we can improve our overall game. I was really pleased to see the hunger to win cricket games.'
AB de Villiers is the Man of the Match
Bailey: 'We certainly had enough runs on the board to win, we created a few chances too, but you'd have to say well played to South Africa. We are all about trying to get better, we will look at what we could do differently and come up better.'
Though the former took his time to get going, all of a sudden, he upped the ante and he was well comforted by the latter. The duo broke a few records en route to recording South Africa's best ever ODI stand against Australia. Both completed their hundreds in the process - first for Faf and 18th for AB. Australia will rue the dropped chances of AB, though he had already shared a big partnership with Faf by then. None of their bowlers were impressive and the fact that no bowler had an economy rate of under 6 tells the story.
Handshakes all around and it's AB de Villiers, who leads the players off the field. He gets a hug from Faf as he climbs up the stairs. What a run chase this has been! AB de Villiers is pumped and punches the air in delight. Chasing 328, openers Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock got the Proteas off to a decent start. However, Australia came back strongly by removing both in quick succession. Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers then joined hands to script a wonderful story.
46.4 James Faulkner to Jean-Paul Duminy 1
1 run, cheeky single to mid-on and South Africa win by 7 wickets! Full from Faulkner, Duminy taps it gently and sets off, the fielder couldn't do much as Duminy was very quick to scamper across

46.3 James Faulkner to Jean-Paul Duminy 4
FOUR, he's somehow managed to time an inswinging yorker very well to pick up four! Duminy had to adjust his stance as this cramped him for room, but he did well to make the adjustment and flick wide of mid-on

46.3 James Faulkner to Jean-Paul Duminy 1wd
