Two-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to return to Indian Premier League (IPL) in the next edition to be played in 2018. After facing a two-year ban along with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for spot fixing and betting scandal, both teams will be back for the eleventh edition. The CSK fans were thrilled to bits hearing their team’s comeback and so was MS Dhoni. CSK skipper welcomed his side by posting a photo sporting the team jersey with his lucky number ‘7’ and Tamil word ‘Thala’ written over it. ‘Thala’ in English means ‘leader’. The former Indian skipper has led the franchise to two IPL titles and been a part of the camp for 8 years.

On Friday, BCCI formally reintroduced CSK and RR in IPL. Dhoni’s gesture speaks volumes of his attachment towards the side. Seeing Dhoni in CSK jersey, fans demanded his return to the camp as well. Since CSK’s ouster, Dhoni was a part of Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) whose term got terminated after IPL 10.

It will be interesting to see whether Dhoni calls the shots for CSK in IPL 11. Alongside winning the championship twice (in 2010 and 2011), CSK also reached the finals on 4 occasions (in 2008, 2012, 2013 and 2015) under the 36-year-old’s captaincy.
