FIFA World Cup is on, but then, so is Wimbledon, and Roger Federer is back in business, romping through to the quarter-final without breaking much of a sweat, winning everything in straight sets. Federer beat Adrian Mannarino in the Round of 16, in straight sets, at Centre Court. During the third game of the first set he played an immaculate forward defensive shot in response to a service fault. The Wimbledon Twitter handle took no time to point it out to their ICC counterparts.

Federer is a cricket fan despite his Swiss nationality. He had earlier mentioned that whenever he plays cricket (a video game), he invariably plays as Sachin Tendulkar. ICC obviously had to make a follow-up tweet…

Federer will play eighth-ranked South African Kevin Anderson in the semi-final.
