They are drawn in Group A of the World Cup with hosts Brazil, Cameroon and Croatia. Mexico have a lot of history in the FIFA World Cup as they have acted as hosts twice (1970 and 1986). Their best showing has been a quarter-final showing on two occasions. Both those times, Mexico had hosted the quadrennial tournament.
