(Afghanistan take on Sri Lanka in the seventh match of the Asia Cup 2014 at Mirpur. Afghanistan lost their first match, but won the second. Sri Lanka have beaten Pakistan and India in their two matches so far. Catch live cricket scores of the match in our live blog below.)

Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews praises his team after the win. He says that Afghanistan have a good bowling attack and the Lankans batted well to post a challenging target. Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi says they didn’t bat well. Kumar Sangakkara is the Man of the Match. He top-scored with 76 runs off 102 deliveries. That is it from us for now. De Silva comes in. He bowls one wide outside off-stump and Ashraf tries to hit over the top on the off side. He gets a thick top-edge and Thisara Perera takes the catch at short third-man. Sri Lanka win the match by 129 runs. They also gain a bonus point and have entered the final.

Mendis continues. Only one leg-bye comes off the first five deliveries in the over. Mendis then bowls a wrong-one and Dawlat plays for the away turn. He gets bowled. Sri Lanka are only one wicket away from a spot in the final.

De Silva comes in and Ashraf finally gets of the mark with a single through wide mid-off.
Mendis comes back into the attack. He bowls four dot deliveries to Hotak. The fifth ball turns in after pitching around the off-stump line. The ball hits the pads and the Sri Lankans appeal. The umpire raises his finger and that is the eighth wicket down for Afghanistan. Dawlat Zadran is the next batsman in.

De Silva is getting the ball to turn and bounce. One delivery misses the outside edge off Ashraf’s bat and goes to Sangakkara. This is also a maiden over.
Perera comes in. He bowls six dot deliveries to the right-handed Hotak, so, it is another maiden over from Perera.
De Silva pitches one on middle and leg-stump from round the wicket and Nabi tries to play the sweep. He misses as the ball hits the pads. The players appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Hamza Hotak is the next batsman in. He gets of the mark with a single towards mid-wicket.

Perera to bowl. He bowls one wide outside off-stump and Najibullah hits it straight to Mathews at extra-cover. Mirwais Ashraf is the next batsman in. It is a wicket-maiden by Perera.

De Silva continues. Nabi comes down the track and hits one over straight long-off for a six. He then sweeps one through sqaure-leg for a four.
Perera comes in. He bowls a short delivery and Nabi pulls it away for a four towards mid-wicket. He then gets a single on the off side. Najibullah then takes a single towards cover.
De Silva to bowl. Najibullah sweeps one behind for a single. Nabi comes down the track and chips one over mid-off for a single.
Perera comes into the attack. Nabi pushes one towards cover for a single. Najibullah then gets a quick single after defending a delivery.
De Silva comes in. Nabi guides one towards fine-leg and gets three runs. Najibullah then gets a single towards mid-on. Nabi comes down the track and hits one towards mid-off for a single. That is the 100 for Afghanistan.
Malinga bowls a loose wide delivery outside off-stump and Nabi cuts it away for a four through point. Afghanistan are coming close to their 100. Malinga then bowls a wide delivery down the leg side.
De Silva has been brought into the attack. He is coming in from round the wicket to Najibullah. Only one run comes in the over.
Malinga comes back into the attack. The batsmen exchange singles in the over.
Lakmal to bowl. He slides one across the left-handed Najibullah and he cuts in through cover for a four.
Mendis continues. Mathews has kept a forward short-leg and short mid-wicket for Mendis. He bowls five dot deliveries to Nabi first up. Mendis then drifts down the leg side and Nabi guides it away for two runs towards fine-leg.
Lakmal comes in. He bowls a good length delivery and Shenwari edges it to Lahiru Thirimanne at wide first slip. The ball was flying and Thirimanne took a sharp catch. Najibullah Zadran is the next batsman in. He gets a riser from Lakmal first up. But he gets his bat out of the way.

Mendis to bowl. He bowls five dot deliveries to Shenwari. He then bowls one down the leg side for a wide. Shenwari then edges one to point and gets a single.
Lakmal comes back into the attack. Nabi gets a single towards deep mid-wicket. Shenwari then hits a wide delivery towards third-man for two runs. He then turns one off the pads for a single towards mid-wicket.
Mendis continues. Shenwari edges one past first slip for a run. Nabi pushes one in front of square on the leg side.
Perera bowls a good length delivery and Mangal edges it to Kumar Sangakkara behind the wickets. Mohammad Nabi is the next batsman in. He gets of the mark with three runs through deep mid-wicket.

Mendis comes in. he bowls one wide and Ali top-edges a drive straight to de Silva at point. Samiullah Shenwari is the next batsman in. He gets of the mark with a single towards mid-wicket.

Perera to bowl. The batsmen exchange two singles off the first five deliveries in the over. Perera then bowls a back of a length delivery and Ali pulls it away for a single behind square on the leg side.
Ajantha Mendis has been brought into the attack. Mangal and Ali get singles in the over to make it two runs.
Perera gets a thick inside edge off Stanikzai’s bat onto his pads. He then bowls an in-coming delivery and Stanikzai has a gap between his bat and pad. The ball goes through and hits the stumps. There was no footwork was missing. Nawroz Mangal is the next batsman in. He gets of the mark with a single towards extra-cover.

De Silva continues. The batsmen get singles to take Afghanistan past 50. A total of five singles come off the over.
Perera bowls a short and wide delivery and Stanikzai cuts it for a four through point. Perera bowls a length delivery outside off-stump and Stanikzai edges it through the vacant slip cordon for a four.
Chaturanga de Silva has come into the attack. He is a left-arm spinner. The batsmen get a few singles to make it four runs off the over.
Perera comes in. He bowls a short delivery and Ali hooks it along the ground for a single towards long-leg.
Lakmal bowls a full delivery on the stumps and Stanikzai flicks it away for a four through mid-wicket. Lakmal then bowls a short and wide delivery and Stanikzai cuts it away for a four behind point.
Thisara Perera comes into the attack. He gets one to come into Ali and the ball hits the pads. There is an appeal for LBW, but the umpire says not out. Perera then bowls full on the pads and Ali times it for a four in-between mid-on and mid-wicket.
Lakmal comes in. He bowls a length delivery outside off-stump and Ali drives that in front of point for a four and gets of the mark. Ali then gets a two and a one in the over.
Malinga continues. He bowls a full and straight delivery and Stanikzai pushes it away for two runs towards mid-wicket.
Lakmal to bowl. He bowls four dot deliveries first up. Ali then pushes one towards backward square-leg and looks for a run. But the fielder dives to his right, stops the ball and throws at the batsman’s end. The ball does not hit the stumps as Ali is slightly out of his crease. It is also a maiden over.
Malinga comes in. He bowls a slower yorker down the leg side and Stanikzai gets some bat onto it as the ball races away for a four towards fine-leg.
Suranga Lakmal shares the new ball with Malinga. He bowls a wide delivery and Shahzad hits it over deep extra-cover for a six. Lakmal then bowls a length delivery and Shahzad swings across the line. He misses and the ball clips the bails. Asghar Stanikzai is the new batsman in. He gets of the mark with a single towards backward square-leg.

Mohammad Shahzad and Noor Ali walk into the middle to bat for Afghanistan. Lasith Malinga will begin proceedings for Sri Lanka. Shahzad gets of the mark with a single towards wide mid-on.


Dawlat to bowl the last over of the innings. He bowls a good length delivery on off-stump and Mathews hits it over mid-wicket for a four. Dawlat then bowls a chest-high full-toss and Mathews ducks underneath it. The ball is down the leg side and the wicketkeeper cannot get to it as it races away for a four. That is Dawlat’s second above the waist no-ball and he cannot complete the over. Nabi completes the over. The batsmen get a further two twos and two singles in the over. Sri Lanka post 253 for six in their 50 overs. The partnership between the duo was worth 69 runs off 51 deliveries.
Shapoor comes in from round the wicket and bowls a low full-toss. Mathews hits it straight back and the ball hits Shapoor flush on the side of his left knee. That must be really painful. He is down on the ground and is getting treatment. He is back up now. Shapoor bowls a yorker down the leg side and the ball hits Perera’s pads and goes for a four behind. The wicketkeeper had jumped towards the leg side and was wrong-footed. Perera then hits one towards deep square-leg and takes off. He hesitates on the second run and is short of his career, but the throw is not direct and he makes it. Mathews then gets a thick outside edge on a full and wide delivery. The ball goes over the short third-man fielder and goes for a four. That brings up the 50-run partnership between the duo.
Dawlat comes back into the attack. He bowls a waist-high full-toss and Perera pulls it in the air towards wide long-on. He gets only one run as the fielder cuts if off. But it is a no-ball. Dawlat then bowls one down the leg side and Mathews flicks it for a four towards fine-leg. Perera then gets two runs through cover-point.
Shapoor to bowl. Mathews comes forward and hits one over mid-wicket for a four. The ball just bounced short of the boundary line. The batsmen get a further four singles off the over.
Nabi continues. Perera gets a single and that is Sri Lanka’s 200. Mathews then punches on towards wide long-on and gets two runs. Mathews plays one towards backward square-leg and takes a single. Perera then knocks one towards square-leg and gets a single.
Shapoor comes in. Mathews and Perera are focusing just on the singles now. Perera flicks the last ball towards fine-leg for a single.
Nabi comes back into the attack. Mathews and Perera exchange five singles in the over. Sri Lanka are nearing the 200-run mark.
Shapoor has been brought into the attack. He bowls a wide down the leg side to Perera. He then gets of the mark with two runs towards deep square-leg.
Dawlat comes in. He bowls a back of a length delivery and Mathews flicks it away for a single behind square on the leg side. Dawlat bowls a short delivery and de Silva pulls it straight to Ashraf at mid-wicket inside the 30-yard circle. Thisara Perera is the next batsman in.

Hotak to bowl. De Silva plays on on the leg side and runs two. The throw is wide on the bowler’s end and goes for four overthrows. So, de Silva gets six runs. Mathews knocks one towards straight long-on for a single. De Silva hits one towards long-on for a single.
Dawlat continues. He bowls a short and wide delivery and de Silva guides it away for a four through third-man. Mathews then hits on towards long-leg and goes for two runs. The throw at the batsman’s end his high and Mathews gets in before the wicketkeeper breaks the stumps.
Hotak comes in. De Silva gets of the mark with a single towards wide long-on. The batsmen get a further three singles in the over.
Dawlat to bowl. Sangakkara drives one to the cover fielder and gets a single. Dawlat bowls a yorker and Mathews hits it to mid-wicket. Sangakkara takes off for a single, but is sent back by Mathews. He is run out at the bowler’s end. Mathews gets of the mark with a single towards long-on. Chaturanga de Silva is the next batsman in. He was also about to get run out as he takes off after pushing one on the off side. Mathews sends him back and the throw is just over the stumps as de Silva is short of his crease.

Hotak continues. He bowls one on the pads and as Sangakkara comes down the track. The ball hits the pads and goes to the wicketkeeper. Sangakkara is way short of the crease, but the keeper is unable to hit the stumps. Sangakkara gets back into his crease. Later in the over, Chandimal comes down the track and tries to hit over cover, but misses and gets bowled. Angelo Mathews is the next batsman in.

Dawlat comes in. He bowls a short and wide delivery and Sangakkara cuts it in front of point for a four. That brings up the 150 for Sri Lanka.
Hotak comes back into the attack. He bowls a short and wide delivery and Sangakkara cuts it away for a four through cover-point. He then takes a single towards long-on. The second drinks break has been taken.
Dawlat replaces Mangal. He bowls a good length delivery and Sangakkara hits it back to him. But he is unable to catch the ball. One cannot give away chances against Sangakkara. Dinesh Karthik gave one and India lost. Afghanistan are very much in this match and Sangakkara has the ability to take them away from it.
Shenwari continues. Chandimal cuts one through extra-cover for a single. Sangakkara then pulls a short delivery in the air and in front of the short fine-leg fielder for a four. That brings up the 50-run partnership for the duo.
Mangal bowls a wide delivery and Sangakkara plays a lofted sweep shot over deep mid-wicket for a six. He attempts the same shot again, but it bounces low and goes through to the wicketkeeper.
Shenwari to bowl. Sangakkara hits one towards deep mid-wicket for a single and gets to his half-century. That is his 85th half-century in ODIs. He has been in excellent form in the last few weeks.
Mangal continues. Chandimal comes down the track and hits one towards long-on for a single. Sangakkara then hits one towards long-off for a single. The batsmen get further singles in the over. Chandimal hits the last delivery over mid-wicket for a four. The ball just bounced short of the boundary line.
Shenwari comes in. Sangakkara comes down the track and drives to the cover fielder and takes a quick run. Chandimal hits one down the ground and gets a single. Sangakkara and Chandimal get two further singles off the over.
Nawroz Mangal has been brought into the attack. He is a right-arm off-spinner. Candimal comes down the track and tries to hoick one over deep mid-wicket, but he gets a thick inside-edge and the ball ball drops below him.
Samiullah Shenwari comes into the attack. He is a right-arm leg-spinner. He bowls a low full-toss and Chandimal hits it towards mid-wicket for a single. Sangakkara then pushes one towards deep square-leg and takes two runs. The throw was not fast enough not on target and Sangakkara got two easy runs.
Ashraf continues. Sangakkara pushes one on the off side and takes a single. Ashraf bowls a fuller delivery and Chandimal drives through cover for a single. That brings up 100 for Sri Lanka. It has really been slow-scoring.
Hotak comes in. Chandimal comes down the track and chips one towards mid-wicket for a single. Sangakkara then flicks one towards short fine-leg and takes a quick single.
Ashraf bowls a good length delivery and it bounces really low. Sangakkara is lucky that the ball is outside the line of off-stump. The ball goes through to the wicketkeeper.
Hotak continues. Sangakkara hits one through mid-on for a single. Chandimal then drives one towards point for a single. Sangakkara then hits one towards mid-wicket for another single.
Ashraf to bowl. He bowls a back of a length delivery and Jayawardene mistimes a pull in the air towards mid-on. Nabi takes the catch running to his left. Dinesh Chandimal comes into bat. He gets of the mark by guiding one towards third-man.

Hamza Hotak comes into the attack. He is a left-arm spinner. He bowls one wide and Jayawardene cuts it away for a four behind square on the off side. Sangakkara comes down the track and hits the good length delivery towards straight long-off for a four.
Ashraf continues. Sangakkara gets two twos and a single off the over.
Nabi to bowl. Jayawardene and Sangakkara get four singles off the over. The score is moving along.
Ashraf comes in. He bowls a full-length delivery outside off-stump and Jayawardene pushes it through point. The fielder runs back and tries to stop it with a dive, but he touches the boundary line while flicking the ball. It is a four. Sangakkara then flicks one of the pads for a four towards long-leg.
Nabi continues. Sangakkara and Jayawardene exchange singles in the over. Drinks have been taken.
Ashraf bowls a back of a length delivery outside off-stump and Perera goes for the pull. But he drags it onto the stumps and is bowled. He looked set for a good score, but the length was not there for the pull. The ball was there for the drive on the off side. Mahela Jayawardene is the new batsman in and he guides the first delivery to third-man for a single.

Nabi to bowl. He bowls one wide from over the wicket and Perera cuts it wide of the short extra-cover fielder for a single. That brings up Sri Lanka’s 50. Nabi then comes from round the wicket and pitches one on off-stump. Sangakkara tries to block it, but the ball turns and beats the outside edge of the bat.
Ashraf comes in. The batsmen get four singles off the over. So, finally there are runs after two maiden overs.
Mohammad Nabi brings himself into the attack. He is a right-arm off-spinner. He has a very round-arm action. He bowls a maiden over as well. He gets the last ball to turn and bounce quite a bit.
Mirwais Ashraf comes into the attack. He is a right-arm medium bowler. He bowls six dot deliveries to Sangakkara as he starts with a maiden over.
Dawlat continues. He bowls a length delivery outside off-stump and Perera hits it in the air, but past the fielder at extra-cover for a four. Perera then hits one down the ground towards straight long-on for another four.
Shapoor comes in. He bowls a back of a length delivery and Perera pulls it away in front of the short fine-leg fielder for a four. Shapoor bowls a slow delivery and Perera flicks it over the deep mid-wicket fielder for a six. Perera has a lot similarities with Sanath Jayasuriya and that shot was very similar.
Dawlat to bowl. He bowls five dot deliveries in-a-row to Sangakkara. But the batsman pushes the last delivery on the off side and gets a single.
Zadran continues. He bowls a short delivery and Perera goes for the pull. There seems to be a deflection as the wicketkeeper takes the catch. The players appeal, but the umpire says not out.


Dawlat Zadran has been brought into the attack. He is a right-hand medium-fast bowler. He bowls one on the pads and Sangakkara flicks it away for a four through mid-wicket. Sangakkara and Perera then exchange singles in the over. Sangakkara completes 1,000 runs in the Asia Cup.
Shapoor comes in. He bowls an incoming delivery and Thirimanne tries to hit it towards mid-on but has a gap between his bat and pads. The ball goes through and he is bowled. Kumar Sangakkara comes into bat. He gets of the mark with a single.

Najibullah continues. Perera goes down on one knee and hits a length delivery over mid-on. He didn’t connect well and the ball falls short of the long-on fielder. Perera then pulls a short delivery for a four towards deep mid-wicket.
Shapoor to bowl. Thirimanne and Perera exchange singles to make it three off the over. This has been a slow start to the innings.
Najibullah comes in. Perera comes down the track and gets a single towards long-on. Thirimanne gets of the mark with a single towards extra-cover.
Left-arm fast-medium bowler Shapoor Zadran comes in from the other end. He bowls a maiden over to Thirimanne.
Kusal Perera and Lahiru Thirimanne have waled out to bat for Sri Lanka. Off-spinner Najibullah Zadran will open the bowling for Afghanistan. Perera gets of the mark with two runs.
