Mohit has been brought into the attack. George Bailey hits a full delivery for a four towards long-on. The next ball is hit towards deep mid-wicket for another four. That is the end of the match. Kings XI Punjab win by six wickets.
Nehra comes back into the attack. He actually bowls a tight over as only four runs come from it.
Jadeja to bowl his final over. Miller comes down the track and smashes one over long-on for a six. Miller then hits one over long-off for a six. He actually did not get a good connection on his shot. That is also Miller’s half-century.
Smith bowls a back of a length delivery and Maxwell pulls it over wide long-on for a six. That gets him to the 90s. He then hits a four as well. Smith bowls a brilliant yorker and Maxwell gets bowled. A fantastic innings has come to an end.
OUT! G Maxwell 95(43)
Ashwin will bowl his final over. Maxwell comes down the track and hits one over mid-off for a four. The 100-run partnership between the duo also comes up in the over.
Dwayne Smith has been brought into the attack. He bowls right-hand mediums. This is basically a gamble and is more a hope to get a wicket off a false shot. He bowls a tame full-toss and Maxwell reverse-hits it over short third-man for a four. SMith bowls one short and Maxwell pulls it behind square on the leg side. The fielder drops the catch.
Negi replaces Ashwin. Maxwell hits the first ball towards deep mid-wicket for a four. Maxwell then rocks back onto his back-foot and pulls a length delivery for a six over wide long-on. He then slog-sweeps a full delivery towards deep square-leg for a six. Maxwell then hits another four towards long-on. A total of 22 runs came from that over.
Jadeja bowling in tandem with Ashwin. Maxwell hits a four towards deep mid-wicket. He reaches his half-century. Miller edges the last ball behind MS Dhoni for a four.
Ashwin to bowl. The 100 comes up for Punjab in this over. Maxwell hits the last ball of the over over cover for a four. Dwayne Bravo was positioned at the boundary, but he was just inside and could not get to the ball. Bravo actually gets injured on his shoulder.
Jadeja comes in. Maxwell attempts a reverse-sweep and Nehra completely misjudges and drops the catch at short fine-leg. Miller hits one towards short extra-cover but that too is dropped. It was a slightly more difficult chance than the first one.
Negi continues. Miller smashes the first ball down the ground for a six. Punjab are actually going at a good run-rate. Now there is a strategic time-out.
Ravindra Jadeja has been brought into the attack. Now he is a ‘Rockstar’ as many say. Miller cuts one through cover for a four. The last ball is hit for a four by Maxwell for a four towards long-leg.
Pawan Negi comes into the attack. He is a left-arm spinner. He bowls a tight over but eight runs come from it. No boundaries though.
Ashwin continues. He hits Akshar Patel’s pads and appeals for LBW. The umpire raises his finger and that is the third wicket. David Miller is the next batsman in. Maxwell hits two back-to-back fours in the over as well.
OUT! A Patel 2(3)
Mohit comes in. Maxwell drives a full delivery towards extra-cover for a four. Maxwell then plays a lofted drive over mid-off for a four.
Ravichandran Ashwin comes into bowl. Glenn Maxwell reverse-sweeps one towards point. Ashwin then traps Pujara on the pads and gets him out LBW.
OUT! C Pujara 13(10)
Nehra continues. Pujara flicks a full delivery towards long-on for a four. Pujara then gets another four towards deep square-leg. Nehra comes from round the wicket to Sehwag and he cuts it over cover for a four. Sehwag then hits one over extra-cover for another four. But Nehra has the last laugh. He bowls one straight and Sehwag swings across the line. He misses and gets bowled.
OUT! V Sehwag 19(10)
Mohit SHarma sjares the new ball with Nehra. Sehwag hits one towards cover-point for a four. Mohit then strays on the pads and Sehwag flicks it away for a four towards fine-leg. Sehwag hits one towards mid-off, but it is dropped by Dwayne Bravo.
Virender Sehwag and Cheteshwar Pujara will open the batting for Punjab. Ashish Nehra will begin proceedings. Three runs come from the over.

Balaji to bowl the final over in the innings. Dhoni hits the first ball over long-on for a big six. Bravo then cut a short delivery over cover for a six. Dhoni then hits one towards deep mid-wicket and gets a four. The last ball is hit down the ground, but Dhawan takes the catch at the boundary. Chennai have posted a massive total of 205 for four.
OUT! Dhoni 26(11)
Awana comes into the attack. Raina shifts to the off side and tries to hit one over fine-leg. He does not get good connection and Virender Sehwag takes the catch at short fine-leg. Raina lost balance and fell down while attempting a shot.
OUT! Raina 24(19)
Johnson to bowl. This is his final over. He has been expensive so far. But he concedes only eight runs in this over. That is actually a good over compared to the previous overs.
Balaji has been brought back into the attack. Balaji bowls a full-toss and Smith mishits it to Bailey at long-off. MS Dhoni is the next batsman in. Balaji bowls a wide full-toss and Dhoni edges it towards third-man for a four. Two deliveries later, the same scenario repeats itself.
OUT! D Smith 66(43)
Johnson comes back into the attack. Smith smashes one over long-on for a six. Raina gets a thick inside-edge and the ball goes to the deep mid-wicket boundary for a four.
Maxwell comes into bowl. Smith gets to his half-century with a reverse sweep for a four towards third-man. He then gets down on one knee and hits a six down the ground.
Dhawan continues. Another good over by Dhawan. Only four runs come from it.
Akshar to bowl his final over. McCullum puts one towards deep square-leg and Maxwell takes a stunning catch at the deep. Suresh Raina comes into bat. He guides his first delivery for a four towards third-man.
B McCullum 67(45)
Dhawan runs in. Only four runs come in the over. Dhawan bowled some good spells for Mumbai Indians last season as they won the title. Punjab could benefit with his bowling. It is a little underrated.
Glenn Maxwell has been brought into the attack. Smith smashes one over long-on. The batsmen have constantly kept the run-rate over 10 runs an over.
Balaji comes back. The 100 comes up for Chennai in this over. It has been a very good innings for them so far.
Akshar continues. It is the seventh anniversary of Brendon McCullum’s extraordinary 158 for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Now he is batting on a brilliant half-century.
Rishi Dhawan comes into the attack. He bowls one on the pads and McCullum pulls it over deep square-leg for a six. McCullum then hits one through covers and gets a four. That is his half-century. There is now a strategic time-out.
Akshar comes back. It is a tight over as he only gives six runs away.
Johnson is also back. McCullum lofts one over extra-cover for a four. He then pulls a short delivery over deep backward square-leg for a six.
Awana comes back into the attack. David Miller drops a relatively simple catch at mid-on. McCullum then comes down the ground and pulls one over wide long-on for a six.
Laxmipathy Balaji to bowl. He gives away eight runs in his first over.
Mitchell JOhnson comes into the attack. He bowls a slower delivery first up and McCullum almost chips it to extra-cover. Smith then hit one through wide mid-off and got a four. Smith slapped a six over point.
Parvinder Awana shares the new ball. McCullum hits a six over cover. He then gets a thick edge trying to pull and the ball goes over the wicketkeeper and gets a four.
Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum walk out to bat for Punjab. Akshar Patel opens the bowling. Nine runs come in the first over.
