(Hong Kong clash with Nepal in the second match in Group A of the ICC World T20 2014 at Chittagong. Catch live cricket scores of the T20 World Cup match in our live blog below.)
Shakti Gauchar and his football style celebration after wickets was a big hit with the commentators and neutrals alike and was rightly adjudicated the Player of the match
Its all over!! It is sure to be a red letter day in the history of Nepal cricket. Its one thing to win but this was a rout in the manner big teams crush the minnows. Mukhiya bowls Nadeem Ahmed with a yorker to spark off wild celebrations in the Nepal crowd, who had come in droves to support their team.
OUT!N Ahmed 5(11)
Shakti Gauchan’s spell is also complete and was a revelation. This man will be a vital cog in Nepal’s future. Gauchan finishes with figures of three for nine.
Regim finishes with impressive figures of three for fourteen and finally an over passes by without a wicket.
When do the wickets stop falling? Kami takes his second wicket and Nepal are in sight of a historic win. Batsman nicks to the keeper to start the long walk back.
OUT!N Amar 2(9)
Its raining wickets in Chittagong!!Batsman Tanwir Afzal slashes the ball straight to the point fielder Khadka off Regmi. Comical batting by Hong Kong
OUT!T Afzal 0(4)
Wickets are falling like nine pins and its Shakti Gauchan’s crafty left-arm spin is simply too hot to handle.
OUT!B Hayat 20(24), A Khan 0(3)
Regmi spins a web around the Hong Kong batsmen, bowling Chapman and Nizakat Khan off successive deliveries. Nepal are in cruise control!
OUT! Chapman 13(12), N Khan 0(1)
The required run rate is touching 10 an over and Nepal look in total control of proceedings.
Shakti Gauchan has been very good and his record in associate cricket so far suggests that. Only a single came off the left-arm spinner’s over.
Nepal bowlers are applying pressure and the required run-rate has shot through the roof
Hong Kong batsmen are finding it difficult to score off the Nepali spinners and Shakti Gauchan takes a wicket of his first over.
Barakat plays a lovely shot over extra cover but doesn’t do much apart from that. Basant Regmi does a fine job coming back after the early boundary.
Just when I was talking about comical mistakes, Nepal spoon a catch and Babar Hayat celebrates the lifeline by slapping two fours off Jitendra Mukhiya. 10 runs came of the over
After Hong Kong made some comical errors on the field, Nepal are following suit. Six runs came of the Kami over.
Barkat plays a lovely shot to get things moving from Hong Kong. they desperately need a partnership going.
Kami gets rid of Hong Kong captain Jamie Atkinson. The Hong captain dragged it back onto his stumps. There a wild send off too.
Khadka gets a wicket of the first ball to get things under way for Nepal.
Four wickets of the last four deliveries for Hong Kong. First it was a brilliant yorker by Amjad to take out Budayair’s leg stump and the new batsman Shakti Gauchan is run out by the the bowler Amjad off the last ball. Hong Kong need 150 to win.
OUT!G Malla 48(41)
The fielding of Hong Kong has been nothing short of atrocious. Vesawkar slashes two fours behind point and Nepal are on the charge for 160.
The Nepal batsmen have gone about their business only in one gear so far so expect some fireworks in the last two overs.
It was skied high into the air by the new batsmen and was safely taken after it looked like two fielders were heading for collision course. Nadeem Ahmed scalps his second wicket.
OUT!B Bhandari 1(2)
Nepal lose their third wicket and captain Khadka perishes after been given two lives off Najeeb. Good knock by the captain.
OUT!P Khadka 41(37)
The Nepal batsman are looking to hit the ball out of the park off every delivery. Taking a leaf out of Ross Taylor’s book, slogging has been one-dimensional — shifting across the off side and slamming it to the leg.
Malla finally find his groove after a rather uncomfortable stay at the crease so far. The No 3 struck two lovely shots to the boundary and took 14 runs of the Irfan Ahmed over.
Khadka strikes yet another boundary, straight down the ground of Nadeem.
Khadka is trying to improvise and up the ante after being gifted a life and the Nepali captain struck two fours of Aizaz to bring the 50-run partnership between the duo, which came of 47 balls.
Nadeem Ahmed bowls a tidy over and one wonders if dropping Khadka will come back to haunt them later.
Paras Khadka is dropped off Najeem Ahmed. It was a sitter and Hong Kong should have been sitting pretty. it was rather schoolboyish form Tanwir Ahmed.
Another tidy over form Hong Kong and the run rate has come down to six an over. Batting conditions are still decent at the moment.
Hong Kong Bowlers are guilty of trying too many tricks and are losing their line when they have no need to, having won back honours over the last three overs or so.
This is a time when runs will be hard to come by and Hong Kong have a couple of good medium pacers in Irfan and Aizaz Khan to put the brakes on the scoring.
Pacer Irfan Ahmed is brought into attack at the end of the powerplay. Irfan has a good look about him as a bowler— nice pace, good seam position and only gave away four runs including one wide.
Captain Paras Khadka has arrived at the crease and gets of the mark with a slog sweep over deep-mid wicket. Nepal are playing an attacking, positive brand of cricket despite losing two wickets in quick succession.
Left arm spinner Nadeem Ahmed is introduced into the attack and Khakurel perishes off a lazy chip to mid-off.
OUT!S Khakurel 22(16)
Sagar Pun slashes the ball to point and the fielder takes a good catch, diving to his right. Saeed Amjad strikes for Hong Kong.
OUT!S Pun 13(13)
Sagar Pun has the party; coming down the pitch and smashing two boundaries on both sides down the wicket off the oldest T20 player, Najeeb Amar.
Nepal are looking good and have scored yet another boundary off this over. Hong Kong look nervous.
Haseeb Amjad bowls a tidily for 5 balls before Khakurel plays a lovely rive of the last ball for a boundary.
Pay starts of in Chittagong Subash Khakurel has played a lovely straight drive to get things under way.
