Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and live cricket updates’ post of the fourth day’s play between India and West Indies, in the first Test at Sir Vivian Richards International Stadium in Antigua on Sunday. India will look to wrap up things after imposing follow-on against the frail West Indies, and picking one wicket in their second innings to finish yet another day on a high. The West Indies trail by more than 300 runs, and a massive defeat is looming over them after a poor show with the bat on a wicket that looks still full of a lot of runs. Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami claimed four wickets each as the two Indian bowlers clocked more pace than what the West Indians did, which was indeed a surprising sight for those who have always seen men from the Caribbean wrecking havoc with the red ball. The only bright spot for the West Indies in their first innings was a resolute Kraigg Brathwaite, who scored a brilliant 74 off 218 balls, studded with 7 boundaries. His innings provided West Indies the solidity they seek from their top-order batsmen, but the others simply disappointed.
The hosts now have a herculean task on their hands as they trail by another 302 runs to make India bat again, and the one wicket that they lost on Day Three evening was of Kraigg Brathwaite. Rajendra Chandrika was at the crease along with Darren Bravo. Ishant Sharma took the only wicket that fell on the third day evening.
