Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the match 42 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). I am Nishad Pai Vaidya and I will be bringing you the live updates. It’s contrasting situation for both teams, Chennai need a win to secure a lace in the playoffs with three more matches top go while RCB have to win all of their four matches to stand a chance of making it to the playoffs. These two teams will be facing again in a few days time.

RCB will be under tremendous pressure to beat the formidable side as any slip-ups will throw their chances of qualifying for playoffs out of the window. The positive aspect for RCB is the form of Yuvraj Singh. After struggling, the southpaw is back with a bang. But CB will require a collective performance from the bowlers and batsmen to outclass a side like CSK. Moreover Chennai are playing at home.

It will be interesting to see whether Chennai include their new recruit David Hussey in the middle-order. At 16 points, CSK are comfortably placed in the points table.
