It is David Hussey who is playing Karn Sharma. He is playing the spinner from the pitch. Finally he picks one and gets a single. Both experienced batsmen perhaps will bide their time for a few before going after the bowling. The deck is certainly flat for batting.
Rasool the off-spinner has comeback well by bowling a fine 10th over. He gives away just 4 runs in the over. The off-spinner is bowling decent lines and lengths for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Are Chennai losing their way here with Hyderabad bowlers bowling dot deliveries?

Hello and welcome to the live updates of the 50th match of IPL 2014 between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). I am Bharath Ramaraj and I will take you through the proceedings. Chennai, in this home game at Ranchi, will be hoping to bounce back to their winning ways after two consecutive losses. SRH, on the other hand will be desperate for a win if they are to keep any hopes of reaching the playoff alive.
Dwayne Smith has been CSK’s batsman of the season so far, and it will interesting to see how he plans his innings against Dale Steyn and co. Suresh Raina has also been in good form of late, and will look to carry that in this match.
The middle overs have proved to be the biggest Achilles heel’ for Hyderabad. In their emphatic win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous match, Hyderabad might have found the solution with David Warner being reinstated at his preferred opening slot. Chennai have breezed through most of the games, but this encounter promises to make the hosts sweat. For Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar has even put Dale Steyn to shade with his bowling so far, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohit Sharma have been Chennai’s bowling architects.
The Ranchi crowd have turned up in large numbers to support their favourite son, MS Dhoni. In fact, there should be no dearth of support for the two-time Champions.
