Johnson comes back into the attack. He bowls a slower delivery and Suryakumar scoop-flicks (can’t explain any better) it over deep backward square-leg for a six. The next delivery is quick and short, but Suryakumar guides it behind for a single. Johnson then bowls one fast and at the stumps. Narine backs away and tries to hit the ball, but misses and gets bowled.

Akshar Patel continues. The batsmen exchange singles of the first two deliveries in the over.
Dhawan comes in. Lynn comes down the track and flat-bats one through extra-cover for a four.
Akshar Patel has been brought into the attack. The left-arm spinner has been Punjab’s best spinner in IPL 7 so far. Good start from him as he gives away only three runs in the over. The first Strategic Time-Out has been taken in the innings.
Rishi Dhawan to bowl. It is a tight over as Dhawan only concedes four runs from it.
Lakshmipathy Balaji comes into the attack. Kallis drives the first ball on the up, but slices it to Glenn Maxwell at point. Balaji strays on the pads and new batsman Robin Uthappa flicks the ball behind short fine-leg for a four and gets of the mark.
OUT! J Kallis 9(11)
Sandeep to bowl. Gambhir gives him the charge and flat-bats a length delivery straight Akshar Patel at mid-off. The umpires check whether the bowler bowled a no-ball. The replays are actually inconclusive as it seems Sandeep has landed his foot on the crease, rather than behind it. But the umpire rules Gambhir out. Harsh decision in my opinion. But Gambhir has had a poor run in this season’s IPL.
OUT! G Gambhir 1(5)
Johnson continues. He bowls a full delivery and Gambhir flicks it to fine-leg for a single. The entire stadium erupts as Gambhir finally gets a run in IPL 2014. Kallis slams the last ball over extra-cover for a four.
Sandeep comes in. He bowls one coming in and Pandey misses with his forward prod. The ball hits the pads and Pandey is out LBW. Gautam Gambhir is the next batsman in. Narine comes in. Narine only gives away four runs in his over. This has turned into a good session for Kolkata. All the top Punjab batsmen are out and now they look like struggling to get to a good total.
Chawla to bowl his final over as well. He looks a different bowler altogether. He is full of confidence and is fighting his deliveries. He only gives away only three runs in that over. He finishes with three wickets for 19 runs.
Kallis to bowl his final over. Akshar Patel is the next batsman in. He bowls one on the pads and Rishi Dhawan manages to flick it behind for a four.

Narine to bowl in tandem with Chawla. It is a good over as he gives only five runs from it.
Chawla continues. He bowls one flat and Sehwag moves away and cuts it right in-between short third-man and backward-point for a four. Brilliant precision in that shot.

Piyush Chawla comes into bowl. This should be fun! Miller charges down the track and mistimes a lofted drive as Chawla bowls a googly. Morne Morkel takes the catch at wide long-on. George Bailey is the next batsman in.
OUT! D Miller 14(10)

Jacques Kallis comes into the attack. He bowls one full and straight and Saha moves cross the stumps and misses. The ball hits the pads and the players appeal. The umpire raises his finger and Saha is out. That brings in the man everyone wants to see. Glenn Maxwell is the next batsman in. Kallis digs one in short and Maxwell tries to get out of the way. But his bat is in the air and the ball takes a big deflection. To his luck, the ball falls away from the short fine-leg fielder.
OUT! W Saha 14(10)
Morkel comes in. He bowls a back of a length delivery and Saha tries to swing it away on the leg side. He only gets a thick top-edge and the ball goes behind the wicketkeeper. Umesh came in from third-man, but was unable to get to it. Morkel repeats the delivery and Saha repeats the shot. This time he manages to get some connection and gets a four behind square on the leg side. Morkel then bowls a good length delivery and Saha pulls it high for a six over backward square-leg.
Umesh continues. Sehwag gets of the mark with a punch for a single towards cover-point. Umesh pitches one up and Sehwag drives it over extra-cover for a four. The ball just about bounced short of the boundary line.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of Match 15 of Indian Premier League (IPL) between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). I am Shrikant Shankar, and I will be bringing you the live updates from the match. Any team against Punjab these days appears like ‘David vs Goliath’. And all these exaggeration about Punjab comes due to Glenn Maxwell who has been swinging his arms and collecting sixes at will. With three half-centuries and in as many matches, all that Maxwell will be worried about is, when will he reach his hundred! Kolkata have a solid bowling attack but the mouth-watering clash will be between Maxwell and Sunil Narine. The Aussie has already hit his way out against Saeed Ajmal in the ICC World T20 2014 and there is every reason to look forward to him attacking Narine than to play him out.
KKR on the other hand will be happy to escape with that win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) but they knew the batting was far from best with the skipper Gautam Gambhir himself failing to open his account in all the three matches. But the biggest plus from the match was a certain Chris Lynn who not only batted well for his 45 but turned the match which one stunning catch. KXIP will be confident with their batting and the bowlers have done a good job so far. With Maxwell on song, not to forget, David Miller is equally threatening with the bat.
Kings XI Punjab: George Bailey (c), David Miller, Manan Vohra, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Virender Sehwag, Rishi Dhawan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shaun Marsh, Cheteshwar Pujara, Beuran Hendricks, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Thisara Perera, Gurkeerat Mann Singh, Murali Kartik, Sandeep Sharma, Mandeep Singh, Akshar Patel, Parvinder Awana, Shardul Thakur, Anureet Singh, Shivam Sharma, Karanveer Singh.
Kolkata Knight Riders: Gautam Gambhir (c), Jacques Kallis, Robin Uthappa, Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan, Manvinder Bisla (wk), Ryan ten Doeschate, Yusuf Pathan, Suryakumar Yadav, Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Kuldeep Yadav, Pat Cummins, Debabrata Das, Piyush Chawla, Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav, Sayan Mondal, R Vinay Kumar, Andre Russell, Veer Pratap Singh.
