They then run a bye off the next ball as Shukla misses again. And Jadhav is run-out. And only two singles off the last two balls. Bangalore have won by 16 runs.

Abu Nechim comes on again and the first ball is short. He gets a top edge that flies over the keeper for a four. Jadhav then walks across his stumps and Nechim bowls outside the off-stump. Knowing that the fielder is in the ring, he opens the face of the bat and hits it fine for four through third-man. Nechim then varies his pace as a slower ball foxes Jadhav. Nechim then overpitches and that will give them a free-hit. Jadhav gets a couple through mid-wicket. He doesn’t get enough bat onto the free-hit as he hits it to mid-wicket. Only a single is possible. Jadhav then keeps trike with a single.
Mitchell Starc comes on and Duminy gets a single through mid-wicket first up.Jadhav then can only get a single off the second. Starc then goes full and outside the off-stump and Duminy opens the face of the bat and carts it over point for a four. But then Starc is the man! He bowls on the stumps and Duminy misses a heave across the line. Rahul Shukla is the new man and he misses the first ball as it is short and he attempts a heave. He then misses the second short ball as well.

Nechim comes back and it is full. Duminy smashes it down the ground for four. It just bounces before the ropes. The next ball is full and outside the off-stump. Duminy misses it. He then tries to paddle a full delivery but is hit on the boot. Jadhav comes on strike and he gets one outside off-stump. He smashes it over cover for a six. It sailed over the ropes easily. Jadhav then smashes it past mid-wicket for a four. Nechim then bowls a full-toss, which is above waist height and Jadhav gets a single as he carts it to the deep. Duminy then tries to hit it over point.. Gayle gets a hand to it, juggles with it and drops it.
Yuvraj continues. Jadhav gets a single off the second ball. Duminy tries to heave across the line then and gets an inside edge, but it misses the off-stump. He then gets a single by placing through the off-side. Only four runs have come off the over. A good one by Yuvraj! He wants to ensure nothing goes awry here.
Chahal is back on and only two runs are possible off the first three balls. Jadhav then places one to third-man and they get a single. Duminy tries to hit through the off-side, but it is uppish and Yuvraj stops it on the bounce. Then, Chahal pitches it short and Duminy carts it over mid-wicket for a six.
Yuvraj is back and Jadhav gets off the mark with a single off the second ball. Later in the over, Duminy cuts one behind point for a four. It was played quite late, but well controlled. But, only eight runs off the over.
Muralitharan continues and Duminy gets a single off the second ball. Only a few singles and a double is possible in this over. Pressure is mounting on Delhi as their hundred is up. But, Bangalore would also be alert considering what happened in the last game. And then Karthik is gone. He tries to pull it, but is caught by Chahal at mid-wicket..

Chahal comes on and Duminy hits him down the ground for a six. It was hit cross-batted and hit over long on. Pietersen then smashes one over cover, but only a single is possible as Zol fields it on the boundary. Duminy then gets another six as it is short and he pulls it over mid-wicket for maximum. Pietersen is out as he charges and misses a flighted.

Pietersen faces Muralitharan, who comes from round the wicket. It turns into him but they gets a single as Pietersen punches it down the ground. Duminy then cuts it behind point for a couple of runs as Chahal fields it on the boundary. He then gets a single. Pietersen then tries to charge down the ground but it is short and they only get a single. Pietersen then tries the switch-hit but misses.
Agarwal is gone. Abu Nechim gets a wicket. Agarwal tries to hit it over long on, but doesn’t get it right. He hits it straight to Sachin Rana at long-on. Pietersen then punches one down the ground for a single. Duminy faces his first ball and blocks it to the off-side. He then gets a single through mid-wicket.

Yuvraj Singh comes on and Pietersen gets a single first up. Agarwal tries to attack off the second but gets an inside edge to fine-leg. A single is possible. Pietersen then goes over the top and hits it through cover for a four. Pietersen then gets a single through cover. Agarwal also changes strike over. Yuvraj then bowls a good ball to fox Pietersen.
Chahal continues and he spins it away from Pietersen as he misses it. Off the second ball, Pietersen plays it behind square on the leg-side as he attempts a sweep and they get a sweep. Pietersen then hits one through cover and it goes over Kohli again as he cannot get his outstretched hand to it. Pietersen then gets a single by placing through mid-wicket. Agarwal then dances down the ground and hits it straight for a six. The fifty of the partnership is up.
Yuvraj is into the attack. And he will bowl to Agarwal first up, who plays it to the off-side for no run. Agarwal then edges it and before the fielder at backward point can field it, they get a run. Yuvraj will now bowl to Pietersen. The pie chucking battle starts! And Pietersen smashes the second ball over mid-wicket for a six. He saw it early and hit it really well.
Yuzvendra Chahal is into the attack and Pietersen gets a boundary. It is a short ball and Pietersen smashes it through the off-side for a four. And Gayle puts a catch down! Agarwal tries to cut and edges it to first slip and Gayle drops it. Chahal then gives Agarwal a bit of width and he cuts it through point for a four.
Abu Nechim is into the attack and he cuts Pietersen into half as it beats him and goes over his stumps. But, Parthiv too was beaten and it goes through for four byes. The next ball is a wide down the off-side. Pietersen then gets a single through the leg-side. Agarwal then tries to pull it but doesn’t connect properly. He is safe though as the ball falls just outside the ring. A single is taken.
Mitchell Starc to bowl to Pietersen and he misses the first one outside the leg-stump. The next ball is a wide down the leg side. Pietersen then tries to go obver the top and clear cover. Kohli jumps to get it, but can only get a palm to it. The next ball is hit by Agarwal through extra cover for four. It was uppish and Zol did try to catch it, but it flew over him. Agarwal then punches a single through mid-on.
Kevin Pietersen is the new man in the centre. Mayank Agarwal gets a single offf the second ball by Muralitharan. Pietersen then tries to charge to Muralitharan and he pads it. They get a leg-bye. Agarwal then gets a six as he smashes a full delivery down the ground for a six.
Mitchell Starc starts off from the other end and there is a single first up. De Kock also gets a single later and Agarwal also works the strike over. And de Kock is gone off the last ball and he inside edges onto the stumps

Quinton de Kock and Murali Vijay open the batting. Muttiah Muralitharan to open the bowling. The first ball is defended by Vijay as Muralitharan comes from round the wicket. Vijay then hits one for a single and there was a close single there. Yuvraj throws it to the non-striker’s end and misses. De Kock is then foxed by a doosra. It is missed by the keeper as well and then Vijay calls him for a single. The throw goes to the non-striker’s end and Muralitharan misses. De Kock would have been miles out. But, off the next ball Vijay tries to sweep and is hit in front. He is out leg-before. Agarwal gets going first ball as there is an overthrow. De Kock gets an outside edge off the last ball and it goes for a four.

Rana gets Yuvraj on strike first ball as the delivery is angled down the leg-side. Rahul Shukla now faces Yuvraj.And he comes from round the wicket and bowls it too wide outside the off-stump. Yuvraj lets it go through. And Yuvraj gets a half-century as he carts it over cover for a six. And there is another six as he smashes it over cover for another. Shukla then bowls it short and Yuvraj pulls it over mid-wicket for a six. Shukla then loses it as he bowls a high full-toss and it is a no-ball. The wicketkeeper misses but the batsmen do not run. Shukla then bowls it angling into his body and Yuvraj pulls it for six over fine-leg. The fielder was in the ring. Shukla then finishes the innings with a good slower ball. What a ball! Bangalore have finishes with 186 for four. Yuvraj has done it with 68 off 29 balls.
Siddharth Kaul is back and there is a wide first up. Yuvraj then punches one down the ground for a single. Rana then gets a single through the off-stump. Yuvraj then chases a wide-one and it goes to the fielder. No single taken as Yuvraj wants to keep strike. Later in the over, Kaul bowls a full toss and Yuvraj smashes it over mid-wicket for a six. The last ball is wide outside the off-stump and Yuvraj cannot hit it.
Mohammed Shami is back and he bowls a wide outside the off-stump first up. He then bowls it short and Yuvraj can only get a single. Rana then takes a single down the ground. Shami then strays down the leg-side and Yuvraj flicks it to fine-leg for a massive six! What a hit by Yuvraj. It was hit high and long! He then jams one down the ground for a single. Rana then gets a boundary as he top edges a short ball and it goes for a four through fine-leg.
Tahir is back and Yuvraj defends the first one. The second ball is a bit short and Yuvraj sweeps it for a six over square-leg. It went way back into the stands. What a hit by Yuvraj! The next ball has a bit of air and is full outside the off-stump. Yuvraj drives it and hits it for six over cover. The next ball is carted over long-off for a six. That was a bit short and a googly, and Yuvraj dismisses it into the stands. Yuvraj then gets a single through the leg-side.
Rana gets a single off the first ball as Shukla is back. he then goes around the wicket to Yuvraj and bowls a no-ball as it goes down the leg-side. There is now a free-hit. And Shukla bowls a very good ball. It is slow and it spins away from Yuvraj as he tries to heave it over the leg-side. Yuvraj then gets an inside edge and they get a single. In his follow through, Shukla had lost his footing and slipped. Rana then plays one through wide long-on for a couple. Rana then flicks another one through mid-wicket and gets a single as Kedar Jadhav fields it well in the deep.
Siddharth Kaul is back and de Villiers smashes it through cover and Pietersen misfields it. It then races for a four. Another misfield off Kaul’s bowling. But he hits back. De Villiers tries to play across the line and is bowled! Kaul is relieved and exults to celebrate. Sachin Rana is the new man in now.

Tahir is in and Yuvraj hits the first ball to cover. off the second, he gets an outside edge that flies over short third-man for a four. Tahir then bowls a dot ball. Later in the over, Yuvraj places to the leg-side and runs a couple. However, Mayank Agarwal throws from the deep and it hits the stumps. A good throw, but Yuvraj is back in quite comfortably. That is the hundred for Bangalore.
Mohammed Shami is back and Parthiv tries to go over the top but gets a single to long-on, where Duminy fields it. De VIlliers then takes a single. But then, Parthiv is gone as Shami bowls it a bit short and Parthiv tries to cut it over point, but it ends in a soft dismissal as Dinesh Karthik takes a catch. Yuvraj Singh is in now! He tries to charge down the ground first ball and he places it through square-leg for a single.

Siddharth Kaul is in and de Villiers gets a single first up. The second ball is smashed by Parthiv Patel down the ground and they get a double as Rahul Shukla has to run across to stop it. Then, Kaul bowls a full toss outside off and de Villiers smashes it through cover. Murali Vijay runs acorss, but misses and it has gone for a four. Kaul then bowls it slower and on a length and de Villiers pulls it over mid-wicket for a six. And it gets worse for Kaul as the last ball is full and de Villiers smashes it to long-off. It goes flat and bounces just before Shukla in the deep and he cannot stop it. Another four.
Tahir continues and Parthiv takes a single first ball. De Villiers then places it through the cover region and they run two. The third ball is a low full toss and de Villiers hits it down the ground for a single. And then finally, Parthiv gets a four as he smashes it through long-off for a four. The fielder could not stop it. Parthiv then drives it again down the ground and they get two. The last ball is a bit short and Parthiv pulls it through square for a four.
Duminy comes in now. de Villiers gets three runs off the first three balls. Parthiv then gets a leg-bye. De Villiers then gets an inside edge to third-man and they run a single. Parthiv is trying to charge to Duminy, but isn’t able to get bat onto it. As a result, only leg-byes are possible. De Villiers cuts the last one through square and it is a four. That spoils Duminy’s figures a touch. He has conceded only 25 in four overs.
Imran Tahir comes on and Kohli is out run-out! He charges to Tahir and gets an inside-edge which goes to fine-leg. He runs through for a single and goes for the second. The throw comes in to the wicketkeeper and Kohli is short as the bails are taken off. AB de Villiers is the new man and he gets a single first up. Parthiv then guides one through third-man for a couple. Parthiv is later hit on the pads and Tahir appeals, but it is given not out as he pitched it outside leg.

Shukla continues and Kohli gets a single off the first ball. The second ball is slower and Parthiv misses that outside the off-stump. Parthiv then gets a leg-bye off the next. Kohli then places one through mid-wicket and they get a couple of runs for that. And then Kohli gets one in the zone and he drives it gracefully through cover, but he gets only a couple. That should give him more confidence.
Duminy continues and Kohli plays the first one through long-on for a single. Parthiv then sweeps for a single. Bangalore have slowed down. Gayle had started well, but then clearly struggled.
Rahul Shukla is into the attack and the first ball is full and outside the off-stump. Gayle plays it straight to cover. He then changes his side and comes from round the wicket. And Gayle is gone! Gayle charges and he inside edges one into the stumps! Kohli comes in and defends the first two. He then gets off the mark off the last ball as he plays it to third-man.

Siddharth Kaul is into the attack. He keeps Gayle quiet off the first three balls. The fourth ball is a high full-toss and it is said to be fine. A good over is spoilt by the last ball. It was a low full-toss and Parthiv does well to flick it through mid-wicket for a four.
Parthiv takes a single off the second ball to allow Chris Gayle to come on strike. Mohammed Shami continues. He almost yorks Gayle off the third ball and Gayle does very well to keep it out. Gayle then works the next ball to mid-wicket for a single. Parthiv then tries to charge, but misses the length delivery as he tries to pull it through the leg-side. The last ball is full and outside the off-stump and Parthiv creams it through cover for a four. Beautiful shot!
Duminy continues and Parthiv drives through the off-side for a single Gayle then blocks one. He then charges down the ground and sends it into the stands straight behind the bowler. What a shot! He then chargers to the next one as well and there is a thick inside edge. The ball goes past mid-wicket and that has gone for a four. He then tries to sweep one as Duminy comes from over the wicket, but doesn’t get bat onto it. He then gets a brace to end the over.
Mohammad Shami comes in from the other end. Gayle defends the first one calmly as it was bowled well around the off-stump. Gayle then charges to one, but doesn’t get bat onto it. It hits his body and goes near the slips as Parthiv calls him through for a leg-bye. Parthiv then gets a single down the leg-side. And there is the first six! Gayle charges and lofts it flat over square-leg for a maximum!
JP Duminy opens the bowling and Gayle defends the first one. He also plays the second one back to Gayle. The third one is right on the money and Gayle defends it on the front-foot. He then gets off the mark off the fourth as he places it to the mid-wicket region. Parthiv then faces his first ball and it is a dot. Only one run off the over.

I am Nishad Pai Vaidya and will take you through to the game. Both sides are desperate for victory. Bangalore have had a tough run and their last defeat to Rajasthan may still be hurting the. On the other hand, Delhi are yet to win on the Indian leg of the IPL 2014. Either side will break that jinx today, but who is it going to be?
Going by the stuff on paper, one would say that Bangalore would be the stronger side as their batting is stronger. Yuvraj Singh also found form and there is AB de Villiers. But, the likes of Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle, if he is playing that is, have to rise to the occasion. Delhi will want to break their bad run today and for that to happen, they need to sort out their batting order, something that has been a huge talking point in this tournament.
