Dwayne Smith has been adjudged as the Man of the Match. He scored 66 runs off 46 deliveries. Smith struck four fours and five sixes. He has now scored three half-centuries in IPL 2014.
Mishra to bowl the final over of the innings and match. Dhoni gets a single on the first delivery towards long-on. Manhas manages to cut one towards cover and completes a quick single. Dhoni was off in a flash from the bowler’s end. Dhoni then, as usual, finishes off the match with a boundary. He hits a full-toss over mid-wicket for a four. Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets.
Ishant comes in. MS Dhoni is showing his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder of taking any given match to the last over. Ishant, though, bowls a good length delivery and Jadeja misses with a half-hearted shot and gets bowled. Manhas gets a thick inside-edge on the last delivery and gets two runs towards fine-leg.
OUT! R Jadeja 6(9)
Bhuvneshwar also to bowl his final over. Dhoni cuts a length delivery towards deep cover for a single. Jadeja hits one towards short third-man for a single.
Steyn comes back into the attack. It is also his fourth and final over. It is a good over as Steyn only gives four runs from it. He finishes with figures of zero for 20.
Bhuvneshwar comes in. He bowls a low full-toss and Smith hits it in the air towards long-off. David Warner runs in and takes a brilliant catch to his right. Faf du Plessis is the next batsman in and edges his first delivery to KL Rahul behind the wickets. Ravindra Jadeja is the next batsman in-line.
OUT! D Smith 66(46), du Plessis 0(1)
MS Dhoni is the next batsman in. Karn Sharma to bowl his final over. Dhoni gets of the mark with a single on the leg side. Smith then hammers one over long-on for a big six.
Ishant bowls a length delivery and Raina drives it for a six over long-on. Ishant then bowls a tame bouncer and Raina gently guides it along for a four behind on the leg side. Raina comes down the track and mishits one in the air. Rao takes the catch at deep extra-cover.
OUT! S Raina 14(10)
Mishra bowls a short dleivery and Smith pulls it for a thumping six over deep mid-wicket. That brings up Chennai’s 100.
Ishant to bowl. Smith just stands and guides a wide delivery through point for a four. Smith then takes a quick single towards cover. Raina gets of the mark towards mid-wicket. Smith gets to his half-century with a single.
Karn Sharma back in the attack. McCullum cuts one towards deep extra-cover for a single. Then Smith hits one in the air down the ground for two runs. Smith then takes a single towards leg side. McCullum then plays a lofted cover drive for a six. But he then gets bowled while trying to cut a full delivery. Suresh Raina is the next batsman in.

Amit Mishra comes into the attack. The 50 comes up for Chennai in this over. The batsmen exchange six singles in the over.
Karn Sharma continues. McCullum comes down the track and hits an inside-out shot over extra-cover for a four. Smith then sweeps hard and gets a four over the square-leg fielder.
Bhuvneshwar to bowl. He offers width and McCullum cuts the ball into the ground. The ball bounces over the backward-point fielder and goes for a four. The last ball of the over is short of a length and Smith plays the pull. He gets a top-edge and the ball goes for a six over fine-leg.
Karn Sharma comes into the attack. McCullum comes down the track and lofts it over mid-off. He only gets two runs as Aaron Finch does well at the long-off boundary.
Steyn continues. He bowls a short delivery and McCullum pulls it with eyes closed. Venugopal Rao, at the deep square-leg boundary, is short to catch the ball and it is a six. Steyn is not happy, but one cannot blame Rao on that occasion.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar will bowl the second over. The first ball squares up McCullum and takes the outside edge towards third-man for a single. McCullum gets of the mark with that run. Bhuvneshwar bowls one slightly short and Smith plays the pull. There is an inside-edge and the ball goes past the wicketkeeper for a four on the leg side. That was really close to the bails. I mean really close.
Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum will begin the run-chase for Chennai Super Kings. Dale Steyn will bowl the first over. Smith drives one through cover for two runs and gets of the mark. Smith then drives one in the air over cover for the first four of the innings.
Well that was a good flourish from Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last two overs. But will it be enough to stop Chennai Super Kings? As obvious as it sounds, we will have to wait and find out! Anyway the run-chase must begin in a while.
Mohit to bowl the 20th and final over of the innings. Sammy stands still and hammers a slower delivery high over deep mid-wicket for a six. The last ball is driven through wide long-off for two runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad post 145 for five in their 20 overs.
Hilfenhaus bowls one on the pads and Sammy just stands and plays the sideways HELICOPTER SHOT for a four over backward square-leg. Hilfenhaus digs one in short and Karn Sharma hammers it for a massive six over deep mid-wicket. That was a monstrous pull shot. The next delivery is full and Karn Sharma smashes that over wide long-off for another six. Where did that come from. There have been murmurs that Karn Sharma is an over-rated cricketer. Not anymore eh! But Karn Sharma hits the last ball in the over in the air and Smith drops a sitter at long-on.
Mohit bowls a slower delivery and Finch pulls early and misses with his shot. The ball hits the stumps and Finch has to depart. Even a good T20 batsman like Finch has made Mohit look like a GREAT bowler. Karn Sharma is the next batsman in.
OUT! A Finch 44(45)
Hilfenhaus comes back into the attack. He bowls a full-toss and Sammy strikes that in the air down the ground for a four.
Ashwin to bowl his final over. The 100 comes up for Hyderabad in the over. It has been slow coming. Darren Sammy is the next batsman in. Only four runs come from the over.
The battle does not seem to be happening on the field but also on Twitter between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings. Well you can decide who is winning the Twitter battle, but at the moment it is Chennai who are winning the on-field battle.

Smith bowls one short and Rahul pulls it straight to Pandey at deep square-leg. The ball did not come on quickly onto the bat. Venugopal Rao is the next batsman in. Smith bowls a good length delivery moving away wide on the off side. Dhoni does not collect and the ball races away for four byes.
OUT! KL Rahul 25(27)
Ashwin has been brought back into the attack. It is a good over from Ashwin as only three runs come from it. The 50-run partnership between Finch and Rahul has come up in this over.
Jadeja continues. He bowls one wide and Finch cuts it for a four through point. The first Strategic Time-Out has been taken in the innings.
Dwayne Smith comes into the attack. The 50 comes up for Hyderabad in this over. The last ball of the over is down the leg side and Finch flicks it for a four towards long-leg.
Ravindra Jadeja to bowl. Rahul goes down on one knee and slog-sweeps a full delivery over deep mid-wicket for a six. That was a good shot from Rahul.
Ravichandran Ashwin has been brought into the attack. Five runs come from the over. At the moment, Chennai have the upper hand in the match.
Mohit Sharma comes into the attack. He bowls one short and wide and KL Rahul cuts it in-between point and cover for a four.

Hilfenhaus continues. He bowls one slightly short and Dhawan pulled it straight to Mithun Manhas at square-leg. Poor shot from the Hyderabad captain. David Warner is the next batsman in. Hilfenhaus pitches one just outside leg-stump and it hits Warner’s pads high. The Chennai players appeal and the umpire surprisingly gives him out. That is a really poor decision.

I am Shrikant Shankar, and I will be bringing you the live updates from the match. Chennai are now in their zone, one where they seem strong and tough to dislodge.
