Hello and welcome to the live updates of the Match 9 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 on April 22 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) clash with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). I am Shrikant Shankar and will be bringing you all the live updates from the match.
Punjab have won both their matches so far in the IPL. SRH have only played one, but lost that match. Punjab have earned themselves the tag of excellent chasers. They chased down a 206-run target against Chennai Super Kings in their first match on April 18. They then chased down a 192-run target against Rajasthan Royals on April 20. Glenn Maxwell has been the star batsman for Punjab as he top-scored in both matches with innings of 95 and 89. David Miller also has been brilliant as he scored 54 not out and 51 not out.
Hyderabad played against Rajasthan in their first match. It was a low-scoring match and Hyderabad’s better players were unable to put up a good performance. Their bowling was better as they managed to drag the match into the last over. A victory for Hyderabad is paramount as they would want to open their accounts.
