Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata will slug it out for the coveted Indian Super League trophy in the final of the ISL at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The interest generated by the Final between the two teams has been amplified by the fact that Kerala Blasters are a team owned by Sachin Tendulkar, where as Atletico de Kolkata are owned by Saurav Ganguly.

Kerala Blasters had beaten the Chennaiyin FC 4-3 on aggregate in the semi final where as Atletico de Kolkata beat Goa FC 4-2 on penalties after both legs ended in goalless draws.

So the final is as Much Tendulkar vs Ganguly as it is Kerala vs Kolkata . It promises be an enthralling contest to conclude the first edition of the Indian Super League.Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata came back from behind to reach the Final of the ISL

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

Fernandes strikes from 26 meters but misses for Kolkata. We are heading into injury time. Tension all around the stadium as neither team has scored, neither will want to concede at this stage of the match. Both teams will be happy going into half an hour extra time. three minutes of injury time. Agony for Kerala Blasters! Atletico score at the fag end of injury time to snatch the title. Atletico de Kolkata win 1-0 to be crowned the inaugural ISL champions. Kerala have had three shots at goal thus far in the second half. Keeper Edel has come to Kolkata’s rescue twice in the last five minutes. Kerala earn a corner kick. Hume takes the Corner and Kerala get another Corner kick as it deflected off a Kolkata player. We are nearing the conclusion of the first half between Kerala Blasters and Atletico de Kolkata. Its been a nerve wracking first 45 minutes, neither team has attempted anything outrageous. Possession’s been even. The teams may change their tactics as move deeper into the final. Free kick to Kerala just outside the penalty box. Michael Chopra wins the free kick for Kerala Blasters in the 38th minute. The blasters fans are all expectations. The keeper gets finger tips to it. Its been an evenly contested match thus far. The first Yellow card’s been handed out to Nirmal Chettri. Atletico de Kolkata earn a free kick as a consequence, close to the penalty area but fail to convert it. Podany blasts it over the bar.
