Darren Sammy is gone. A length ball from Patel and he has lofted it back to the bowler. Andre Russell is the new man in the middle and he takes a quick single off the third ball he faces. Had there been a direct hit at the non-striker’s end, he would have been out.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live blog of the fourth One-Day International (ODI) between India and West Indies at Dharamshala. I am Nishad Pai Vaidya, and I will be bringing you the live updates of the match.

After cyclone Hudhud caused a forced break in the series, India and West Indies resume with the fourth ODI at one of the nation’s most scenic grounds — Dharamsala. With the Vishakhapatnam ODI cancelled due to the cyclone, both teams stayed at Delhi and continued with their practice sessions. Virat Kohli’s half-century would have been a relief to him, though a statistical review of his recent performances shows that he is actually not in as bad form as has been made out. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina continues his impressive run for India. While Shikhar Dhawan has been in decent nick, he would be keen to get back to his high-scoring ways of 2013. See India’s likely XI for today’s match.

West Indies had got off to a tremendous start in the series thanks to their massive 124-run win in the first ODI. However, India will go in to this match with their heads held high after pulling off a victory from behind to square the series in the second match. The hosts took the advantage of some reckless batting from West Indies which otherwise looked like yet another defeat for the Indians. See West Indies likely XI for this match.

In spite of their loss in the opening encounter, India look by far the more convincing side as they usually do when playing at home. What changed drastically from the first game was the performance of the bowlers; Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra bowled beautifully at the slow Kotla track, while the pacers too came good with some fine performances. Bhuvneshwar Kumar continues to be miserly early on while Mohammed Shami has done an impressive job in death overs.

Unlike the usual flat decks dished out in this part of the world, Dharamsala could offer something different for the teams. A fast and bouncy pitch is expected for this match. “The pitch is fully ready and unlike the Delhi wicket, you will see a fast yet sporting wicket here. As a routine precaution we have covered the wicket following a light spell of rain today. Our aim is to provide a wicket which holds true for 100 overs,” curator of the venue Sunil Chauhan said. Catch the Key Battles of the match.

Squads:

India: MS Dhoni (c&wk), Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Murali Vijay, Akshar Patel.

West Indies: Dwayne Bravo (c), Leon Johnson, Dwayne Smith, Jermaine Blackwood, Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Darren Sammy, Jason Holder, Suleiman Benn, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Jerome Taylor, Nikita Miller.
