Smriti Mandhana's century went in vain.

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the second One-Day International (ODI) between India women and Australia women at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Australia convincingly won the first ODI by 101 runs of this three-match series. They would be looking forward to give the final killer blow in the second clash and thereby claim the series even before the third and final ODI is played. They will also be inching to avenge their 2-1 series loss in the recently concluded Twenty20 international (T20I) series. For India, it is a do or die match and they would come out hard against the Aussies considering the hosts too showed resilience after being down and out after losing the first two T20Is. Meg Lanning too has went past her half century. Both the openers have made the job of the coming batters easy; if they get a chance to bat because the way Bolton and Lanning are batting it appears that they wont give an opportunity for other batswomen to bat. India has tried six bowlers so far but are yet to draw first blood.

She has struck eight boundaries in her innings. Mithali too has reached her half century. She has hit five shots to the fence in her knock so far. India women would be hoping that this partnership grows and blossoms before they up the tempo after 34-35 overs of the innings are over. Australia have tried seven bowlers till now with only Ellyse Perry getting any success. She has also been the most successful. She took the lone wicket that fell today and gave just 11 runs in five overs.

Live Cricket Score India women 89/1 | Overs 20.3 | Batting: Smriti Mandhana 49(58), Mithali Raj 34(64): The second wicket partnership between Smriti Madhana and Mithali Raj is now worth 89 runs since they lost their first wicket in the form of Thrirush Kamini for duck on the first ball of the match. Australia was simply superb in the first game. They played phenomenal cricket in the match both through their batting and later through a stellar bowling performance as well. Ellyse Perry and Alex Blackwell were at their murderous best in the previous encounter. Perry scored 90 and then took a four-wicket-haul as well while Blackwell smashed 114 in the contest. India will have to remain wary of both of them in the second game also. Mithali Raj will continue to lead the Indian team while Meg Lanning will captain the Australians. Jhulan Goswami did not play to her standards in the first one-day; a lot is expected from her for this series. Expectations from Jhulan rose after she performed exceedingly well in the T20I series.
