Earlier in the match, Haryana were all-out in their first innings 335 after starting the second day at 303 for six, lost their last four wickets for only four runs as only 19.1 overs of play was possible due to inclement weather on the second day. On Day 1, Sehwag showed glimpses of his vintage self, with his 92 off 129 balls that had 15 well-timed boundaries. He added 124 runs for the third wicket with centurion Himanshu Rana, was ultimately dismissed for a score of 157 off 271 balls. Nikit Dhumal and Samad Fallah emerged the pick among the Maharashtra bowlers with three-wicket hauls for 55 and 78 runs respectively.
