(A sublime Pakistan continue to dominate a hapless Australia. Catch live cricket scores and live updates of the match here)

Bad light has called of play. The policy of playing attritional cricket and just tiring out the bowlers has worked for Younis and Azhar here. Peter Siddle bowled brilliantly and delivered 3 maidens in a row.

Both batsman have defended well, and look intent on seeing off this day without losing any wickets. The partnership is worth 34 runs, and it has come at a slow rate 2.75 rpo.

Azhar Ali and Younus Khan, the duo who have haunted Australia in the series, are at the crease. Both of them are taking it easy and looking to rebuild the Pakistan innings, after the two early dismissals.

Ahmed Shehzad starts off with a bang, and fizzles out soon. He hits two fours and a six off Mitchell Johnson, who comes back well to knock over his stumps. In his next over, Johnson knocks over Hafeez too. Is there a miraculous twist in the tale here?

Oh dear! Mitchell Marsh is dismissed on 87. It would have been heroic had he scored a century, but it wasn’t to be. Peter Siddle follows suit, and Australia are bowled out for 261 while Pakistan have given themselves a healthy first innings lead of 261.
OUT! Mitchell Marsh c Rahat Ali b Imran Khan 87 (116) / OUT! Siddle c Yasir Shah b Hafeez 28 (45)

That’s tea. This partnership is now worth 40 runs, and has shown some signs of spirit. Australia still face a follow-on though, and Pakistan team management will use the tea break to discuss whether they would enforce the follow-on or not.

Peter Siddle has batted well, and given Mitchell Marsh some support here. It is crucial that Australia don’t lose any more wickets before tea which is not a long way away.

Another one bites the dust! Mitchell Johnson doesn’t time the ball well, and hits it high into the air. Yasir Shah gets his second wicket. Mohammad Hafeez takes an easy catch.
OUT! Mitchell Johnson c Hafeez b Yasir Shah 0(7)

Mitchell Marsh reaches his 50! He is not playing it cautiously and seems to be in a hurry to score runs. Brad Haddin was starting to giving him solid support at the other end, but Yasir Shah finds a way to get rid of him. Australia look set for a huge defeat here.
OUT! Haddin b Yasir Shah 10(22)

Bowled! Michael Clarke is gone! Imran Khan rattles the stumps, and celebrates. Clarke was on the brink of a 50, but he just falls short. He can’t believe it, but he has to take the long walk back to the pavilion.
OUT! Clarke b Imran Khan 47(62)

Australia have started the second session on a good note. Mitchell Marsh has hit some terrfic shots, that give us a glimpse of his superb potential. This partnership is nearing the 50 run mark and it has come in quick time.

That’s Lunch! It has been another horrific session for Australia. Glum faces in the Australian camp. They have let themselves down once again. The Test series has been a nightmare for them, and they’ll love to get on the flight back to Australia as soon as possible. Rahat Ali and Zulfiqar Babar have taken two wickets apiece for Pakistan.

OUT!!!!!!!!! It’s number five down for the Aussies and they find half of their team back to the pavilion for just 100 and trailing Pakistan by 470 runs. Steven Smith departs for an unfortunate duck after being adjudged lbw by the third umpire on review as the original decision was not out by the on-field umpire.
Steven Smith 0(6) lbw Babar

OUT!!!!!!!!! It’s number four down for the Aussies and it’s the night watchman, Nathan Lyon who finally departs after giving a good support to the batsmen since yesterday evening. A good straight ball from Ali, Lyon misses the line and the ball shatters the stumps.
Nathan Lyon 15(85) b Ali

As skipper, Michael Clarke steps in after explosive batsman, Glenn Maxwell departed five overs back, he has been playing sensibly and especially the spinners. He has also been trying to read the ball properly released by the spinner and playing late for the perfect shot rather than hastily going for it. Go sense coming in to play by the skipper.

OUT!!!!!!!!! It’s the third and a big loss for Australia as Glenn Maxwell departs for a mere 37. Tried to score runs on a quickfire. However, Test cricket being a different ball game, it doesn’t always works as Zulfiqar Babar bowls him over.
Glenn Maxwell 37(28) b Babar

Good comeback by the Australian batsmen after an early loss. No harm done as they continue to bat sensibly and not taking any undue risks. However, the spinners are occasionally troubling the batsmen with few close decisions as well.

An early jolt for Australia in the form of David Warner, however, it’s Maxwell and Lyon who try to steer the Australian innings forward and make sure there are no hiccups as the total is too long and from from being reached at present situation.

OUT!!!!!!!!! The second one is down for the Aussies and it’s opening batsman David Warner, who departs for just 19 after handing a simple catch to Azhar Ali at point of Yasir Shah. The first wicket of the day for Pakistan as Glenn Maxwell makes his way out to the crease.

A miaden over to start off the third day for Australia, batting in their first innings after Pakistan scored a brilliant 570 and declared on the second day.

Hello, and welcome to Cricketcountry’s coverage of Day Three of the second Test between Pakistan and Australia at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. We will be bringing you the live updates of the match. Pakistan lead Australia 1-0 in the two-Test series winning the first Test at Dubai.

On Day Two, Younis Khan completed his fifth Test double century to help Pakistan reach a humongous 570 for six declared. At stumps on Day Two, Australia were precariously placed at 22 for one, with David Warner still in the middle.

Pakistan started the day on a slow note and did not play any risky or fashionable shots. They lost Azhar early in the day who was dismissed for an impressive knock of 109. Younis was lucky in the first session of the day, being dropped by David Warner and later just surviving a chance of a catch to wicketkeeper Brad Haddin. However, Haddin ended up injuring his right shoulder on the dive for Younis and was replaced by Warner — who had also kept wickets for Australia in the 2008 and 2010 edition of the Hong-Kong super-sixes — as the stand-in keeper. Younis was lucky a third time after Warner missed a stumping chance off Nathan Lyon.

The post-lunch session turned out to be a good one from Pakistan’s perspective as it saw a couple of records being created by Younis. He joined Javed Miandad as the Pakistani with the most 150-plus knocks in Tests. While on 181, he also became the third Pakistan batsman to score 8,o0o runs in Test cricket after Miandad (8832) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (8829). He also scored his fifth double ton and dismantled the Australian bowling attack. Misbah joined the party too, with a terrific 101 before being dismissed by Steven Smith.

The post-tea session saw the departure of Younis for a well-made 213. Misbah finally declared the innings as Pakistan touched 570. Australia started on a good note with Warner smashing boundaries off the first two balls of the innings. However, Chris Rogers was dismissed for just five by Imran Khan as the umpires called for stumps with the score reading 22 for one.
