Bangladesh were completely thrashed today. Their bowlers did a reasonable job to restrict the West Indian batsmen, but their own batters completely went to pieces in the face of some disciplined but unremarkable bowling from Sunil Narine, Kemar Roach and company. Narine is named Man of the Match for his triple strike. In case you missed out on what happened earlier on, you can read the match report here.

Bangladesh 70 | Overs 24.4

A Razzak 0(14)

Well this has been a rather shameful performance from Bangladesh. Memories of their 58 all-out against India come to mind. Narine continues. He has looked like he will get a wicket every three balls. Just the one wide off that over. Ravi Rampaul comes back on. It’s another maiden. Narine gives away three in his next over. Rampaul again. AND HE STRIKES! Al-Amin Hossain comes in. AND HE IS RUN OUT! West Indies win the match and the series by 177 runs!

 OUT! M Mortaza 2(16) LBW b Rampaul, A Hossain 0(2) run out

Bangladesh 66/8 | Overs 20.2

M Mortaza 1(6)

The last 17 balls have yielded as many wickets as it has runs! The new man in is Mashrafe Mortaza. Roach continues. And Bangladesh survive the over without losing a wicket. Narine again. Just a single off that over. Roach continues. He has not been his usual pacy self, BUT HE STRIKES AGAIN! That’s the end of Nasir!

OUT! N Hossain 6(13) c Pollard b Roach

Bangladesh 60/7 | Overs 17.5

N Hossain 1(4)

AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST! Bangladesh seem quite keen to finish the match early. The man in form who was batting so very well is out chipping the ball to the big man Chris Gayle. Bangladesh have more than enough time, but the frequent wickets is not helping their cause. Narine continues. He has bamboozled the best in the world, AND HE CONTINUES! Gazi top edges a sweep to Kirk Edwards in the deep, and Bangladesh lose their seventh!

OUT! T Iqbal 37 (50) c Gayle b Roach, S Gazi 2(9) c Edwards b Narine

Bangladesh 56/5 | Overs 15.3 | T Iqbal 37 (49)

Another one gone!! Two in two for Narine. Mahmudullah has no clue of the ball and he is bowled.

Mahmudullah b Narine 0 (1)

Bangladesh 56/3 | Overs 15.2 | T Iqbal 37 (49)

Gone! Rahim gets out to Narine. Now it’s looking more and more difficult for Bangladesh.

M Rahim c †Ramdin b Narine 6 (16)

Bangladesh 56/3 | Overs 15 | T Iqbal 36 (48), M Rahim 6 (15)

Bangladesh tottering after 15 over. Their experience pair Iqbal and Rahim are at the crease. Narine is bowling now. Though times for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh 42/3 | Overs 10 | T Iqbal 29 (33)

Third one down for Bangladesh! Roach gets his first wicket. He fires in a short of a length ball outside off which has Shamsur going after it with a cut, but he ends up playing onto his wicket as he was a tad early in the shot. Now Mushfiqur Rahim has came in. he and Tamim have to pull Bangladesh out of this hole.

S Rahman b Roach 4 (8)

Bangladesh 27/2 | Overs 7.3 | T Iqbal 18 (26)

Second one down for Bangladesh!! Imrul Kayes is out for just one. Poor shot selection. Early problems for Bangladesh.

I Kayes c Simmons b Rampaul 1 (11)

Bangladesh 12/1 | Overs 4.2 | T Iqbal 4 (18)

Gone! As we are saying Bangladesh need a good start, their last match’s centurion Anamul Haque is gone, caught behind. Anamul though was not satisfied, and has gone for the review straightaway. Replays show that there was indeed a deviation upon going past the bat, with a slight sound there as well. The original decision is out, remember. After some careful deliberation, the on-field umpire confirms that the original decision stands, and Anamul has to go.

A Haque c Ramdin b Holder 7 (8)

Bangladesh 6/0 | Overs 4 | T Iqbal 4 (18) A Haque 1 (6)

Steady start for Bangladesh. The openers need to play out the opening spells of Rampaul and Holder.

 West Indies 247/7 | Overs 50| J Holder 8 (3) S Narine 7 (5)

Good finish for West Indies. 15 runs have came in the last over of Al-Amin Hossain. He finished with a figure of two 60 in 10 overs. Morataza is the most successful bowler for them. His figures are 10 overs, one maiden, three wickets and 39 runs. Bangladesh bowlers kept the pressure up for the most part, with special praise going to the new-ball bowlers, Mortaza and Al-Amin, for their disciplined spells.

And with that the West Indies manage to get themselves to a respectable 247 for 7 after their 50 overs. The innings was shaped largely by the contributions of Chris Gayle, Darren Bravo, Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons.

West Indies 231/6 | Overs 46.4| J Holder 0 (0)

Mashrafe Mortaza to DJ Bravo, OUT!! This is just what the doctor ordered for Bangladesh as this time Bravo, looking to pull across the line of this shorter one outside off, ends up getting an outside edge which Mushfiqur snaps up gleefully. Mortaza on a hat-trick, and West Indies’ hopes of quick runs looking rather grim.

D Bravo c Mushfiqur Rahim b Mashrafe Mortaza 6 (5)

West Indies 231/6 | Overs 46.3 | D Bravo 6 (4)

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, OUT!! This time uses his feet to get to the pitch as he lifts this high and handsome over long on, but doesn’t get the distance required as this falls into the waiting hands of Mahmudullah, who ends up taking a straightforward catch. Ends a miserable stay at the crease for Simmons, who never really had the kind of fluency he craved for.

L Simmons c Mahmudullah b Mashrafe Mortaza 40 (61)

West Indies 224/5 | Overs 46.4 | L Simmons 38 (54)

Fifth wicket gone for West Indies, and it’s the big wicket of Pollard!! Mortaza got him. In the depth overs Pollard could have done more damage. But Bangladesh got his wicket, when he was looking dangerous.

K Pollard b M Mortaza 27 (20)

West Indies 171/4 | Overs 39.3 | L Simmons 15 (31)

Fourth one down for West Indies. Ramdin fall to Al Amin. Now the big man is here. Kieron Pollard.

D Ramdin c Rahim b Al-Amin Hossain 34 (51)

West Indies 144/3 | Overs 32 | D Ramdin 24 (40)

Third wicket for Bangladesh. Sohag Gazi gets Darren Barvo. Simmons is the new man in.

DM Bravo lbw b Sohag Gazi 53 (82)

West Indies 137/2 | Overs 29 |D Bravo 50 (71) D Ramdin 20 (30)

Daran Bravo reaches 50 now. 15th ODI fifty for him. West Indies in comfortable position.

West Indies 119/2 | Overs 19 | D Bravo 44 (64) D Ramdin 9 (13)

Half way mark of the first innings.  West Indies in comfortable position. They will be looking to get close to 300. Bangladesh need quick wickets to hold them back.

 West Indies 93/2 | Overs 21.2 | D Bravo 33 (55)

Gayle Gone!! big wicket for Bangladesh. it was shortish ball that stayed a bit low, Gayle had loads of time to pick his spot and dispatch it, he picks out the man at deep midwicket though, Mahmudullah is elated, Gayle grins ruefully, knowing he has given it away.

C Gayle c S Gazi b Mahmudullah 58 (67)

West Indies 81/1 | Overs 19 | C Gayle 50 (61) D Bravo 29 (47)

50 for Gayle. 46th half century for him in ODIs. An aggressive innings. Bravo is also giving him good company. The partnership already scored 76 in 17 overs.

West Indies 68/1 | Overs 15  | C Gayle 44 (53) D Bravo 22 (31)

West Indies back on track. 50 partnership between Bravo and Gayle. Bangladesh need to find out way to get Gayle out. 4 sixes already for him. Bad luck for Bangladesh. LBW decision against Gayle was overturned by third umpire.

 West Indies 38/1 | Overs 10  | C Gayle 28 (33) D Bravo 9 (20)

Gayle is looking in an attacking mood. He has already hit two sixes. The Left hander seems to hit out of his bad form. Bangladeshi captain Rahim has called his off-spinners Mahmudullah and Gazi to ball against the two left handers.

West Indies 13/1 | Overs 5  | C Gayle 11 (15), D Bravo 1 (9)

Gayle is playing an attacking game. Though Bangladesh opening bowlers are bowling well. Gayle has already hit a six.

West Indies 5/1 | Overs 2  | C Gayle 4 (5)

Out! What a ball by Al-Amin Hossain. Edwards had no clue of the ball. Early wicket for Bangladesh. What a great start for them. Darren Barvo is the new man for the hosts.

This tour comprises three ODIs, one T20 Internationals and two Tests. Bangladesh have come into this tour without Shakib Al Hasan, who has been suspended due to disciplinary reasons.
