Meanwhile John Nyumbu said, “Pretty pleased to be in that league [among the bowlers who got five-for on debut]. Honestly, I didn’t even think about the five-for. I only wanted to play for my country. My team-mates helped me a lot as some bowlers were tiring, the seniors were supporting me and I’m happy that these guys can help me motivate like that. I have had to go out and get my fingers checked by the doc but I’m willing to go out and bowl again.”
First one gone for Zimbabwe. Masakadza out to Morkel. bangs it in short and it’s taken in the slip cordon! It was coming in from outside off at some pace, Masakadza had time only to take evasive action by putting his bat in front of his head, the edge flew to third slip and Masakadza had no clue where the ball went. Zimbabwe have sent Tiripano as night watchman.

Wicket!! Zimbabwe have a wicket, the stumps have been castled! Williams flighted it a bit on leg stump, Philander stayed back to defend but the ball turned and went past his bat to hit middle and off. The partnership has been broken. Tea has been called as well.
Philander b Williams 17 (87)
A steady partnership is developing between Duminy and Philander for South Africa. 32 runs have been already added by this pair. Zimbabwe needs to get a wicket to push South Africa back and restrict them. They lead by 69 runs with 4 wickets remaining.
Big wicket for Zimbabwe. de Kock was batting well and set. First wicket for Williams. Now Zimbabwe is in business. Philander has came in to join Duminy.

Lunch on day three!! South Africa lost just one wicket in the morning session. JP Duminy has came to join de Kock, who is nearing his Ton. South Africa now has a lead of 22 runs with five wickets still in hand. Comfortable position for them.
Out!! Faf du Plessis misses out his Hundred by only two runs. What a disappointment for him. Third wicket for Nyumbu. Faf came down the track to tuck it away, the ball was a bit short of length on leg, it turned and the bounce took the edge straight to backward short leg where Chakabva took an easy catch. Though du Plessis’s contribution was crucial for the visitors as they lost Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers cheaply. With Quinton de Kock he has shared an important partnership to give South Africa the lead.
du Plessis c Chakabva b Nyumbu 98 (264)
Fifty for de Kock with a SIX!! He hits a six to Nyumbu and gets his half century. Also South Africa have taken the lead. Now they can push the run rate up and look to build a handsome lead. du Plessis is also nearing his hundred.
Drinks are on the field now!! South Africa played out the first hour carefully. Zimbabwe bowlers haven’t bowled badly but no wicket came for them so far. Though de Kock was dropped in the bowling of Nyumbu in the 97th over.
Carefully start by South Africa in the third day morning. Zimbabwe bowlers are bowling good line and length with the second new ball. Zimbabwe’s Tendai Chatara has been reprimanded after pleading guilty to a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first day’s play.

In the day second day also the hosts played gutsy cricket. They managed to take four important wickets of South Africa and managed to control their run rate too.
