Cricket Australia (CA) and Lord’s Cricket Ground released the video footage of former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist‘s helmet camera which he donned during the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and the Rest of the World XI (RoW) match on July 5.
The camera footgae shows Gilchrist facing two of the fastest pacers he played alongside with — Brett Lee and Shaun Tait.
Gilchrist smashed six boundaries during his innings. The footage also shows former India opener Virender Sehwag’s innings and Lee bowling him.
There is a moment when Gilchrist asks Sachin Tendulkar to blow a kiss to his fans, which Tendulkar smiling obliged to.
“There’s been a request for you to blow a kiss to all your fans,” Gilchrist says to Tendulkar.
The interesting part came, when Gilchrist confessed to Bangladesh cricket Tamim Iqbal that the former Australian had no idea what to expect when Saeed Ajmal came to bowl.
He said, ” I’ve got no idea what to expect here. This is where I officialy start to guess.”
Gilchrist was stumped by Ajmal, as Chris Read smoothly removed the bails. The video concludes with Gilchrist walking back to the dressing room and greeted by Kevin Pietersen, who went out to bat after the Australian’s dismissal.
The official website of CA states that this is not the first time that the helmet camera was used. During last year’s training session in England, Shane Watson used it to film practice.
