Adam Lyth, Aaron Finch team up to take spectacular catch in Natwest T20
In one motion, Lyth caught the ball and threw it back to watchful Finch, who took the catch.

Yorkshire Vikings‘ Adam Lyth‘s efforts in the deep during the Natwest T20 match between Vikings and Lancashire Lightening should go down as the catch of the season. As much Lyth is given credit for creating the chance, Aaron Finch should be equally rewarded for having the presence of mind to stand close to Lyth and pouch the rebound in his safe hands.
Lancashire’s Tom Smith was cruising along and had crossed the half century mark. Adil Rashid comes on to bowl and Smith heaves the ball down the ground and the ball looks certain to go over the ropes for a six. Lyth, stationed at long-on, covers plenty of ground and catches the ball barely an inch ahead of the boundary cushions.
Mid-air, Lyth, realising that he was falling over the rope sees Aaron Finch supporting him and throws the ball back to the Australian, who keeps his nerve to take the catch. The entire incident happened in a split-second and is surely one of the breathtaking moments of the season. There were quite a few great catches in the deep in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) — Kieron Pollard, Mitchell Starc and Chris Lynn’s efforts to name a few. This effort would certainly trump them all.
