Afghanistan cricket board to receive one million from Indian Government to construct a new cricket stadium in Kandarhar. In a statement released by the Indian Embassy in Kabul, Ambassador Amar Sinha confirmed this news and said that initiative is taken by Indian government to popularise sports, specially cricket in Afghanistan.

Sinha also mentioned that Afghanistan’s recent performance in Zimbabwe were really impressive and it encouraged the Indian government to take the decision to help Afghan Cricket. Afghanistan drawn the One-Day International (ODI) series 2-2 against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe last month. It was a great achievement for this nation, who will also take part in the next year’s Cricket World Cup.

At this point of time cricket is the most popular sports in this war trodden nation. And this initiative by the Indian Government will definitely helped the Afghan Cricket to grow.
