Ajinkya Rahane who scored the maximum runs in the recently concluded five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against England climbed up 32 placed in the ICC ODI rankings to take the No 68 spot. Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina too made upward movements in the rankings climbing to No 7 and No 19 respectively.
Faf du Plessis who enjoyed superb form in the recently concluded Zimbabwe Triangular Series, 2014 climbed up 33 spots on the ICC ODI rankings for batsman and is now ranked No 11. Du Plessis scored three centuries a 96 in the five matches he played in the triangular series.
Other than Du Plessis, South African captain AB de Villiers too climbed up the rankings to become the No 1 ranked batsman in ODIs. While de Villiers and du Plessis climbed up the rankings, Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock slipped. Amla, who was the No 1 batsman prior to the tour, slipped to the No 2 position, while de Kock slipped two placed to the No 9 position.
