Ajinkya Rahane got a horrible decision by umpire Bruce Oxenford during the second Test at Lord’s on Saturday. Stuart broad had dropped one short and Rahane tried to fend it off; the ball ricocheted off his arm-guard and wicketkeeper Matt Prior covered good ground to catch it. The England players appealed and  to the surprise of everyone, Oxenford raised his finger.

Rahane had a smirky smile on his face for the rough decision as he walked back to the pavilion. Rahane’s dismissal predictably brought back the debate over Decision Review System (DRS) which has been kept away from all the bilateral series involving India.

This is not the first time Rahane has been at the wrong end of a horrible decision. In South Africa during the One-Day International (ODI) series, he was given out caught behind after the umpire thought he nicked it because the locket made a sound after hitting the helmet grill.
