Former England cricketer Michael Atherton has said that an Indian recovery led by Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane was possible but would be an uphill task. India were 112 for the loss of four wickets at stumps on Day 3. England had set a target of 445 for India to chase, and the visitors are still 333 runs behind that target.
“They’ve [England] done wonderfully well and they’re in a position where India will find it really hard to defend. Anything’s possible but they’ll need two really big hundreds. Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma are probably the only two players capable of getting big hundreds at the moment but it’s going to be a tough battle.”, Atherton was quoted as saying by SkySports.
