Wicketkeeper-batsman Alyssa Healy will lead the Cricket Australia (CA) Chairman’s XI against England in a 50-over practice match at the Junction Oval on January 17 ahead of the Women’s Ashes One-Day International (ODI) series.
The Women’s National Selection Panel Tuesday named a 12-player squad for the Chairman’s XI. The panel has currently selected nine players and will name two more batters and one bowler in due course.
“The Chairman’s XI team will comprise a number of Australian ODI players to ensure they have continued match practice ahead of the ODIs of the Women’s Ashes series,” said chair of selectors Julie Savage.
England are visiting Australia to play one Test match, three ODIs and three T20Is. All the matches make up the Ashes.
