With the wicket of Kevin Pietersen, Amit Mishra reached 100 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 wickets. By reaching the landmark the leg-spinner happens to the first Indian and the first slow-bowler to reach the millestone as well. Mishra scalped the the important wicket of Pietersen, just when the Delhi Daredevils captain was going strong and threatening to take the game away from his team, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Mishra has been one of the consistent performers in the IPL and had been stuck on 99 wickets for a while now. The Uttar-Pradesh spinner has also endured a pretty miserable start in IPL 7 so far, being easy pickings for batsmen and has failed to give his team regular breakthroughs in the middle. Mishra was subsequently dropped for a game before making a strong comeback in Hyderabad’s clinical win while defending a low score against Rajasthan Royals. Mishra, who enjoyed a purple patch with the Indian team before the start of IPL 2014, has played for Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers before Hyderabad snapped him up.
