Amit Shah has been elected as the president of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA). Previously, the post was held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had resigned from the post late last month after the successful elections for his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
About 10 days back, it had been hinted that Amit Shah, who is considered the most trusted aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would be the next to helm the GCA.
After being sworn in as the 15th Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi resigned as president of the GCA. Earlier reports hinted that Modi’s close aide Amit Shah would become the new GCA chief.
