Andrew Strauss, who was commentating for Sky Sports in the ongoing Lord’s Bicentenary match between Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Rest of the World (RoW) XI, was heard using the word ‘c*nt’ in relation to Kevin Pietersen on national television. The former England opener was thinking that he was not on air, when he made that comment.
According to The Telegraph, Strauss was talking to Nick Knight during a commercial break. The comment was thus not broadcasted to viewers in Britain, but those watching the match in Australia heard it. Sky Sports has issued a statement on Twitter apologising for the language used.
Earlier comments were made during a break of play which were heard overseas. We apologise for the language used.
