England lost both their overnight batsman Ian Bell and Ben Stokes as Australian pacers kept up the pressure on the opposition. Bell was the first to go after a leg-before decision was overturned in Australia’s favour. Even Matt Prior was out for eight.
Bell started confidently on the third morning, going for his strokes. Harris got a ball to move in to the right-hander which struck him on the pads. Umpire Marais Erasmus turned down the appeal. Skipper Michael Clarke however opted for a review. The replays showed, the ball was hitting on the top of middle-order.
Soon, Mitchell Johnson dismissed Ben Stokes caught behind. Just as the visitors thought about a revival, Matt Prior to was caught behind off Peter Siddle.
