England take on Australia in the third Test of The Ashes 2013 at Old Trafford on Thursday. Australia skipper Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to bat first. Australia are coming into the match on the back of a thumping 347-run loss to the hosts in the first Test at Lord’s.
Australia made a couple of changes in the playing XI. David Warner comes back in the team in place of Phil Hughes. Mitchell Starc comes in place of James Pattinson and Ashton Agar makes way for Nathan Lyon.
Kevin Pietersen passes the fitness test and he is in the English team. The rest of the England side remain same.
England: Alastair Cook (c), Joe Root, Jonathan Trott, Ian Bell, James Taylor, Jonny Bairstow, Matt Prior (wk), Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, James Anderson.
Australia: Shane Watson, Chris Rogers, Usman Khawaja, Michael Clarke, David Warner, Steven Smith, Brad Haddin, Ashton Agar, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris, Mitchell Starc.
