As Bengal are facing Madhya Pradesh at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai for Ranji quarter-finals, Bengal have been chasing a huge target ahead of them. Amongst all the target and run chasing, Bengal cricketer Ashok Dinda was the only players to get selected in Indian Premier League auction on Satruday at Bengaluru. Having gone unsold in the first round, Dinda’s base price of Rs 50 lakhs was met by Rising Pune Supergiants, the only team who considered to pick him in thew second round of bidding, as reported on CricBuzz. So as Bengal were busy chasing the target of Madhya Pradesh, Dinda on the other hand was anxious and eager to know what was the situation in IPL auction, “I never really thought about the auction,” Dinda said. “The only thing on my mind was to try and get them Madhya Pradesh all out. Even on the TV in our dressing room, the channel showing our match was on. Not even one player’s mind was on the auction as we had a quarterfinal match going on. It didn’t matter how bad the situation was, but our mind was firmly on the match. It is only now end of day’s play we have been speaking about it,” he added. For a player who is no stranger to the glitz and glamour of the IPL, having also represented the previous Pune franchise, Pune Warriors, along with Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore and home franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, Dinda did mention he was surprised on being picked for Rising Pune Supergiants and added, “I didn’t think I would go unsold in the first round,” he said, breaking into a smile.
