Australia have won the One-Day International (ODI) series against England with a seven-wicket win in the third match at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 19, 2014. Australia chased down a 244-run target in 40 overs having lost only three wickets.
David Warner and Shaun Marsh starred in the run-chase with 71 runs each. While Warner was dismissed, Marsh remained unbeaten till the end as Australia won the match. Warner struck seven fours and two sixes. Marsh hit seven fours as well.
Michael Clarke (34) and Brad Haddin (37 not out) made important contributions as Australia continued their winning streak over England. Chris Jordan, Ben Stokes and Ravi Bopara took one wicket each.
England are still winless in their current tour of Australia. They lost the Ashes 0-5 and now trail by 0-3 in the five-match ODI series.
Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bat first. Alastair Cook (35), Eoin Morgan (54) and Tim Bresnan (41 not out) guided England to 243 for nine in 50 overs.
Nathan Coulter-Nile took three wickets while James Faulkner and Dan Christian took two wickets each.
