Umar Akmal attacked the Australian bowlers in Pakistan’s second match of the ICC World T20 2014 at Dhaka on Sunday. Umar completed his half-century in 28 balls. Pakistan are on 123 for three in 13 overs. They lost the wicket of Kamran Akmal in the 13th over for 31.
After two early wickets, the Akmal brothers were in no mood to observe caution as they kept going for their strokes. Umar in particular went after the bowlers right from the first ball he faced. He succeeded with his aerial shots.
Austraia’s spin trump card Brad Hogg failed miserably as Umar clobbered him for boundaries. Bailey brought in Aaron Finch in the 12th over but that only encouraged him to go for bigger sixes. He got to his half-century with a maximum over midwicket.
Kamran was caught in the deep by David Warner off Nathan Coulter-Nile’s bowling for run-a-ball 31.
