Dindigul: Oct 28, 2013
All-rounder Baba Aparajith’s brother Baba Indrajith (102) on Monday came up with a timely century to stablise Tamil Nadu innings as the hosts made 228 for four at the close of play against Punjab on Day One of their Col CK Nayudu Trophy encounter in Dindigul.
Electing to bat, Tamil Nadu lost the wicket of opener Bharath Shankar off the second ball of the innings and his partner Ganga Sridhar too was out for 20 leaving the hosts at two for 49. Both wickets were claimed by medium-pacer Jaskaran Singh.
However, Indrajith put on 170 runs for the third wicket with captain Kaushik Gandhi (70) to steady the innings.
After Gandhi too made his exit, Indrajith and Ashwin Venkataraman brought up the 200-mark when the former was out caught by wicket keeper Hitansh Khera off medium pacer Deepak Bansal. In compiling 102, Indrajith had hit 13 fours.
At close, Ashwin (24) and Rohit (4) were at the crease.
