Australian team made news when Cameron Bancroft was caught tampering the ball on camera on Day Three of the third Test against South Africa. At the press conference, Steven Smith confessed that it was a deliberate plan and the team’s “leadership group were aware” of it. However, Moises Henriques  has added another angle to the story.

Henriques took his twitter account, saying that Smith cooked the story to save Bancroft and failed to realise that the outrage would follow. He also added that the ‘leadership group’ did not meet and decide to cheat.

Many former cricketers had criticised ICC for legal actions taken on Smith, calling it very mild. However, according to reports Smith and David Warner might face a year ban. Australia head coach, Darren Lehmann is also likely to resign.
