Bangladesh won the toss and decided to field first  in the first One-Day International (ODI) against Sri Lanka in Dhaka. After a rain delay of over three hours the teams will play 43 overs each.

Bangladesh still search for an elusive win against the 1996 World Cup winners in the series before playing hosting in The ICC World T20 2014, starting next month.

While Sri Lanka’s pyrotechnics with the bat have been on full display since the start of the Test series, their bowling continues its search for the right balance. Bangladesh needs to prove that it can win games against the established Test nations.
