Bangladesh lost two wickets with a space of five runs Anamul Haque and Mahmudullah, with both falling prey to the bowling of Tendai Chatara on scores of 12 and one respectively in the first game of the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Friday. While Haque was caught in the cover region by opposition skipper Elton Chigumbura, while Mahmudullah holed a catch to Tafadzwa Kamungozi at mid-on.
Zimbabwe had earlier won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh decided top award legspinner his maiden ODI cap and medium-pacer Al-Amin Hossain made his way back in to the side after getting his action cleared by International Cricket Council (ICC). Zimbabwe, on the other hand, decided to field debutant Solomon Mire. Both teams have a captain different from the Test one, with Mashrafe Mortaza and Elton Chigumbura taking over the reigns from Mushfiqur Rahim and Brendan Taylor for Bangladesh and Zimbabwe respectively.
