Bangladesh lost Anamul Haque and Sabbir Rahman in quick succession as both were dismissed by Tinashe Panyangara in the 37th over of the match. Earlier, Tamim fell on the last ball of the power-play while Shakib Al Hasan who came to bat at No. 3 was out on the first ball he played. Bangladesh got off to a very good start as both openers added 158 runs for the first wicket. Bangladesh were 179 for four after 39 overs.
